We are leaving for our honeymoon right after the wedding (wedding Friday night, fly out for Mexico Sunday morning). Fiance is starting a very intense, time consuming PhD program right when we get back from the honeymoon so this might be the only time we have it in our budget and have time for a week long vacations in awhile!

We waited about 5 months, due to our work schedules. It was so nice to have another fun event to look forward to! =)

We got married on a Saturday night, had brunch with our families on Sunday before they all traveled home that afternoon, and then we left for our honeymoon Monday morning.

We’ll be flying out 8 days after the wedding. I scheduled everything around having to do payroll at work haha.

We left the day after our wedding. Having another day in between would have been nice in hindsight, but I loved continuing the celebration just the two of us. ๐Ÿ™‚

We left the next morning and I regret it lol! Was so completely exhausted. A couple days in between would have been better.

We are getting married one Friday and we are leaving the following Wednesday. We were going to wait 6 months to a year to go on a honeymoon, but we heard a bunch of horror stories from people that did this and they just never went. We have a enough money sent aside for a good honeymoon, it just wasn’t our dream one that we were going to wait for, but we’d rather go now since we will try to have kids a year or so after the wedding and wont want to be spending money like that if we are going to be expecting a baby soon.

We got married in May and still haven’t booked our honeymoon. I’m quite happy about it as it gives us something to look forward to and time to save ….but I do think it’s better to go away a few days after the wedding if you can. We had a stressful time then had to go straight back to work….not fun. And I worry we’ve missed the boat on that blissful honeymoon stage now, that amazing post-wedding bubble…it’s a shame….but you have to do what you have to do!! Whatever you do, book it so it doesn’t get forgotten. It’s so easy to say ‘oh well it’s too late now and we could do with the money for x y or z’.

We were married in March and took our honeymoon at the end of May. I didnt plan it that way for any particular reason but I am soooo glad thats how it worked out. The wedding was already time consuming and stressful(I d.i.y.ed a few projects that upped the stress level) having two months to take a breather and then gear up for the next adventure was perfect. We took a two week road trip around Iceland and I needed a few solid days to research our trip, plan our itinerary, map a route and pack. If I had to juggle that along with the wedding prep I would have been at my wits end.

We got married in July of last year.  We didn’t go on our honeymoon until April of this year.

We will wait a few weeks. We will have out of town people so we want to enjoy our time with them then go on our honeymoon.

southerngal2016 :  For now,  we are planning to take it one month after our wedding. It’s nice to have a break in between and have something to look forward to after the high of the wedding like other bees have mentioned.

Got married on the Saturday. Left for our honeymoon on the Monday. Came back that Friday night.

If we had planned a longer trip we may have waited though, so we could save up more money.
