My bachelorette is going to be much more low-key than FI’s bachelor party.  He is going to Atlantic City next Friday-Sunday with a huge group of guys (even friends of his that aren’t in the wedding party–basically any male who wants to go to AC, gamble, and eat at a fancy restaurant). My shower is Sunday 4/10 and I have to be around to take care of my dogs, so I am going to stay relatively local.  I’m going to go out with a smaller group (maybe 6 of us tops), go bar-hopping in DC on Friday and staying at a hotel, shopping Saturday then going to a wine tasting, picking up my dogs, and coming back to my place for a sleepover before my shower.

I told my girls that as long as there is some combination of shopping, drinking, and yummy food, I will be totally happy 🙂

Fiance has been to two bachelor parties in Atlantic City in the last 3 months, and you know how competitive guys are (and how they all think their bachelor party needs to be like “The Hangover”).

You aren’t the only one.  I went out to lunch with my girlfriends and that was it.  Hubby went fishing with friends and came home and had his own bachelor party with me…him drinking beers all night while we watched TV.

No way. He went to Miami with like 8 friends, went to strip clubs, hung out on the beach…

I went wine tasting with a group of friends and then out to dinner and to a lounge. No naked men involved 🙂 His was definitely way more crazy than mine.

His was way more extravagent because I wanted to be sure all my friends had a chance to come (although some still couldnt) so I wanted it to be not so expensive.

I flew to Boston (where a lot of friends are, others drove from CT and NYC to be there) Fri night we hung out at a friends house and had really good cheese plate and wine and chatted. Sat we went to a tapas dinner,  improve show and then did a club for a very short period of time.

FH went to New Orleans for 4 days to watch 3 NCAA basketball games (last weekend) and they did an expensive dinner, drinking etc…

My Fiance and his buddies are planning a weekend trip to a cottage for his bachelor party. I want to go to high tea at a fancy hotel with my girlfriends! I think they’re pretty evenly awesome.

I haven’t had mine yet…but my friends were pretty different too! The guys went bar-hopping in the grooms home-town. The girls did a 5K, played bingo, and went to a baseball game lol

I think I will be the one having the crazier bachelorette! I mean – might as well right?

Ours were pretty equivalent – mine started out with a fondue and wine tasting at a local wine bar, then off to the gay club nearby for Drag Queen Karaoke and dancing, where the emcee made me part of the show! It was a blast!

His was pool and drinks out, then our best man arranged for strippers about halfway through the night, then out to the bar for some more food and drinks…

His was more elaborate, mine was longer… so I guess it evens out? lol. He went with his friends up to detroit for an auto show and to go gambling at the casinos for a night. My two non-local bridesmaids flew in and we did a lingerie shower at our house, then dinner and a comedy show. The next morning just me and the BMs went to get our nails done and then did pizza and movies in that night (with Darling Husband actually because he was home by that point! lol)

We both had “destination” bachelor/ette parties but his was a bit more extravagent.

He went to Vegas for the 4th of July weekend with the guys.  The gambled, drank, went to nice dinners, and split an incredible suite.  I went with my girls to my parent’s vacation home in south Georgia for the 4th of July weekend.  We relaxed, went to the beach, went shopping, and did a lingerie shower.

So in some ways they were comperable (same length, weekend, travel required, etc).  But we girls were more low-key than the guys!

@panterapeach:  We’re both having our parties tomorrow, and they’ll both be really low key!  For mine, a group of us are going out for dinner and then heading back to a friend’s house for drinking and other fun.  My Fiance will be doing the same thing, but heading back to our house after dinner.  Neither of us are into the bar scene.

I think J is going to have the lower key party than I am.  He doesn’t even care to do it.

Darling Husband went to Vegas for 5 days with like 12 friends. It was ridiculous.

My bachelorette was local (DC). Friday night we just hung out, ate a lot of junk food, played games and drank wine. Saturday we went to brunch with all you can drink mimosas. Saturday night we went out to a nice dinner then went bar hopping in DC.
