I’m imagining that our STDs will consist of a fridge magnet and a postcard. I’d like the magnet to be attached to the card in a way that it will stay stuck in place during transit, but can be removed easily by the recipient without much (if any) damage to the card. What could I use to do this?! Thanks!

i used photo corners from michaels. i put one on each corner of the magnet and stuck it on the card and put it in an envelope! it worked great and everyone i talked to said it stayed.

Glue Dots. My favourites are called Zots. They’re like the glue adhesive that keeps your credit card to the paper when you get it in the mail, they’re easy to use and they’re cheap, and they have good holding power. Also using them to hold my envelopment for my invite together. 🙂

@RainStorm: I purchased “carrier cards” with my magnets that had a color coordinating theme to match and allowed for additional text to be printed on the back of the card. The card was scored with slits that the corners of the maget could fit into, and easily be removed. Not sure if you have already purcahsed your magnets or not, but check out http://www.magnetstreetweddings.com they have magents/carrier cards in serveral sizes and very reasonable prices!

Our STD magnet was pretty big (4×6 I think) so I just put them in an envelope. Everyone loved them!

Thank you everyone! Lots of useful answers. I think @red_pepper_gal
has the answer I’m after – some sort of glue dot (I didn’t know what they were called!).
My vague plan is to have a postcard with a design on it, and a magnet attached to it. When the invitee removes the magnet, I still want the postcard to look good.

I just put my business size magnets in the (hand written) card and then put it in the envelope…but Im sure some glue dots, rubber cement or double sided tape would work great! =)
Did you ever consider making a post card size magnet?! =) We did two sizes the business card size and the 4×6 for our parents/older guests! They LOVED them! And I did mine through VistaPrint for I think$20 total! =)

I hope you are using an envelope! If not the machines at the post office will rip the magnets off. Just a heads up!
