We are leaving for our honeymoon next Thursday. I’m debating whether or not I should pack my hair tools. I have a flat iron and a set of hot rollers. We have three formal nights planned. For the days that we tour I think I am just going to wear it up in a clip. I am already overpacked.
Did you bring your hair tools on your honeymoon?

All I brought was my flat iron-it’s a travel size one so its really small to pack, where we were going was going to be really humid and I knew I’d be wearing my hair up most of the time (even for formal nights) because it’d get too frizzy.

Do you often style your hair? If you do, I would probably only bring the flat iron and not the hot rollers since that might take longer to style and you want to spend time with your husband, not doing your hair!

@weightwatchers152: I don’t bring hair tools when I travel anywhere. To be fair, the only hair tool I regularly use is my blow dryer, and all the hotels we stay at have one. Messy buns are great on tropical vacations 😀

I brought my flat iron only, but still pretty much lived in a ponytail the whole honeymoon. Then I packed it along the edge of my checked bag, and when I got home it was broken. 🙁 Stupid baggage handlers… Completely busted the plastic away from the plates. RIP flat iron I’ve had since 2003…

@weightwatchers152: I always bring my blow dryer on vacation, so that won’t be any different for my honeymoon

I brought a flat iron because I could curl or straighten my hair with it. I was glad I had it!

I thought of a funny story when I read this title. I once had a cousin who forgot to pack her HAIRBRUSH for her honeymoon (she had hair down past her bra line at the time!). They stayed in a pretty remote area and couldn’t find anywhere that sold them — so she had to wear her hair in a braid the rest of the vacation to avoid it turning into a tangled mess.
So, don’t forget your brush!! lol
Also, I always travel with my flat iron, but rarely ever take my hot rollers (too bulky to fly with!)

It depends where you are going. I travel from the US to Europe a lot for vacation, and every time I bring my straight iron and hair dryer, but they never work even with the voltage converters and all of that equipment. I don’t know why I still insist on bringing them really. If you are going on a cruise or somewhere within the US I would bring them just so that you have options. Even if you just bring the straightener you can always use that to curl your hair.

I just bring a hairbrush, hair ties, and bobby pins. Usually the blowdryer at the hotels are enough and I can airdry my hair.

I will be taking my blowdryer and flat iron, which I use daily. When on beach trips / crusies / etc. I usually wake up, pull it up in a ponytail for the beach or the pool then shower and get ready for dinner.
ETA: I am pretty picky about my hair (although you’d never know by looking…) so I never use hotel shampoo and try to stay away from hotel hair dryers too.
