I think your dress sounds amazingly pretty – and that is a great price! It was kinda similar for me – my Darling Husband only ever commented on mermaid dresses and said he didn’t really love poofy ones that make it hard to even get close to the bride. Well tough luck for him, because I’d been dreaming of a gorgeous tulle sparkly ballgown, and that is what I got! But for his sake I didn’t wear a crinoline under, so that toned down the poof factor a bit…but when it comes down to it, he’s going to think you look gorgeous no matter what, and you are doing to care and obsess about the dress a million times more than him – so get the one you want!

@sparklerunner:  You and I are in the same boat!! My Fiance said he wants to see me in a fit-n-flare gown (actually, he pointed to a magazine pic and said “yeah… that kind”) but so far, I’ve only felt like a bride in one dress… a satin ballgown (Paloma Blanca 4104). I have to try on more to find “the one” but who knows!

Bottom line: you’ll look amazing on your wedding day, and I wouldn’t worry about him not loving it. As you walk down the aisle, I guarantee you’ll be the most beautiful bride he’s ever seen.

Guys don’t know a thang about wedding gowns and he loves you and will love to see you loving your dress and loving the day in a dress that makes you feel beautiful. The dress you chose sounds nice. I’m sure as long as the dress you choose isn’t something tottally crazy, like with a see through bodice, or like hot pink then Fiance will think you look lovely. You are worried about this for nothing. Don’t worry. ๐Ÿ™‚ Okay???

My dress was very modern and couture- something my husband probably would say is “weird” but I loved it-and he thought i was beautiful It’s funny because recently I asked him to describe it to me and he got every single detail!!

My fiance’s a pretty typical ‘dude’; no sense of fashion, couldn’t care less, but doesn’t like to rock the boat. My dress is a convertible top, long dress. The top is cream and the skirt is a long organza light pink, with a small train.

He didn’t like it. Couldn’t understand why I’d want to wear pink at a wedding, couldn’t get the benefit of a convertible dress, just didn’t like it.

Showed it to his female friends and they all gushed about how pretty and perfect it was for a beach wedding, how comfortable it’d be and how pink wedding dresses are massively popular. Now he’s just pleased he has a woman who actually knows how to dress herself!

I bought something completely opposite off my DH’s “choice”, or what he thought would look good and on our wedding day… He loved my dress choice better than anything he had ever thought I would wear, because I was wearing it… That’s all you need to worry about.  He is just going to be so happy to see you and be marrying you, those things will not even matter.

My story is pretty much the same as everyone else’s. I had a feeling my Fiance would have preffered a more fitted, toned down on the bling, kind of dress. Which to be honest, was what I thought I would like too! Turns out I was wrong, all the fit and flare, mermaid styles I tried on were doing nothing for me until I tried on a full on, no apologies,  satin ball gown with beading, and a cathedral train! It was the one and I know that he will love it because I do.

My FH is a typical man. He doesn’t understand why we just can’t get married in jeans (well, we could, but that’s not what I had in mind). All wedding dresses to him are just white dresses, but he does seem to like ruffled skirts and he doesn’t like the ballgowns, which is good, because a ballgown just isn’t me and wasn’t the direction I planned on going for a dress.

I don’t think you have to worry, your FH is going to love the way you look in whatever dress you choose.

Yep, looks like it.

My fiancé and I were watching SYTTD last month and I kept telling him to give me opinions of every dress that was being tried on as I’m in the dress shopping process. Then I asked him what style was his favorite and when another mermaid type came on he pointed and said “That kind, I like that. I’d say that’s my favorite”. At that time, I was beginning to fall in love with ball gowns after unintentionally trying one at the bridal boutique so I just nodded my head and looked back at the TV while answering his question of what style dress that’s called. I’ll be honest, I was a bit bummed. Recently I tried on the Lazaro 3108 dress and I just fell in love. I didn’t wanna take the thing off. I personally always thought I would get a fit and flare or mermaid dress (even before fiancé told me that that’s his favorite), and instead, I’m ending up with a natural waist ball gown with tulle, tulle, and oh yea, did I mention tulle?

Does it sometimes cross my mind about whether my honey is gonna love the dress? Sure. But I know when he sees me in it the day of our wedding, he’s gonna be blown away. I just know it.

@sparklerunner:  I totally agree! The color is amazing… a little more creamy, and i loooove the back of it. It made me look so tiny and skinny on top! I wasn’t a huge fan of the belt that came with it (not enough bling for me) but I’ll definitely go back and try it on again.

What other dresses have you tried on and liked? I loved Ella 5647 in person, but it does not photograph well (based on what I’ve seen online.) *sigh*
