Someone posted about wedding insurance and I started investigating a bit more. It is interesting, it seems to have pretty broad coverage. It would be about $350 for coverage plus $1M in liability. We do *not* need liquor liability (provided by our venue), but you never know.
– Did you investigate wedding insurance? Did you buy it or not?
– Why or why not?
– What company did you use?
– How much did you pay for what kind of coverage?
I’m debating. $350 is not that much in the scope of a wedding, BUT… it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we lost our money, we’re sort of “self insured.” But if something bad happened, it would suck to have to spend the money all over again to plan another wedding. We could, but probably wouldn’t.

@NAvery: We didn’t. Our wedding was so inexpensive, and we did have back up plans. It just didn’t seem like it would be worth it in our situation. Good luck deciding.

@NAvery: We didn’t…It didnt even occur to me! Then again I don’t get trip insurance and stuff like that. (I do have health insurance though!)
90% of the money isn’t due until right before the wedding so I’d imagine if I wanted to cancel it, I would do so way before then. As far as things happening the day of…. well, that would be terrible luck but I think I will just keep my fingers crossed. My venue is on the beach and sometimes I worry about rogue waves coming and washing it away.

@NAvery: Because I was having my wedding in hurricane season on the beach in florida I def got wedding insurance. Wasn’t much. $130 for the coverage I wanted.

I probably will. We are providing our own alcohol, so we may need to, plus we are marrying in March in Oklahoma. That’s tornado season, and if my venue gets blown away the week before (which would be tragic!) at least they would pay to replace the deposits, etc so that I could afford the mulligan.
