I just found out the dress I bought (for a great deal) will cost a fortune to have altered. I may still go forward, but since I also have a little bit of dress doubt, I’m planning to look around for a dress.
Did you buy your dress six months or less before your wedding? What line was it? Did you have to pay a rush fee?
I just want to hear from others before I go out and do this – if you have any other advice please let me know!!

Yes. I bought mine in May for an October wedding. It was an Allure and no, there was no rush fee. It came in in plenty of time for alterations and cleaning/pressing.

I did! Neiman Marcus last call, and I was so happy about not ordering and waiting, etc. It was really nice to just walk out of there with *my* dress.
Also, I don’t know where you are, but how is your access to off the rack stores? I had excellent experiences with the ones in my town.

I did. I got mine at a bridal consignment shop. It was a Sophia Tolli sample, and it was amazing. Sorry I can’t help with ordering times and whatnot. That was something I really didn’t want to deal with myself. 🙂

I’m probably going to be getting a dress around 6 months out and I’m completely paranoid I will get hassled for doing so – so anyone who had positive experiences I’d love to hear!

I did… but I bought the sample off the rack, so I’m not sure that helps you!
