We probably will but we are also getting married on our anniversary so we already have a reason to go out.  When we got engaged we celebrated at an obscenely expensive restaurant.  The food was phenomenal but with the cost we can’t justify going for anything other than a special occasion.  So, we will probably make reservations to go there (or I’ll do it as a surprise!) πŸ™‚

We didn’t celebrate, I just texted him and said ‘one year from this moment, you will still be sleeping and I will be paying exorbitant amounts of money to have someone else deal with my hair’

NO.  In my mind, the less “festivities” the better.

I’m 80 days out and I just want it over.  LOL

We didn’t have a 1-year countdown, as we got married 8 months after we got engaged. But, I love stuff like this… so we maybe would have gone out for supper or celebrated with a drink of some sort.

He did text me a week after we got married at the time we got married that, something like “a week ago at this time we were starting our wedding ceremony”. I thought that was cute, as he’s usually not a sappy romantic guy. πŸ™‚

One year before my wedding, I had just gotten back from a long driving trip with my mom and nieces, and was lamenting the fact that I’d probably die alone and sad LOL.

Then a month later I met my H πŸ™‚

I sent a cute text to him while he was at work haha that’s about it: “Happy future anniversary” But I did feel gushy about it lol

We didn’t. But that’s because I find couples who turn everything into an anniversary of some sort puke-inducingly nauseating. Eg happy 4 months after we got married. Happy 3 weeks back from honeymoon. (real examples) Sweet for them bit not for me.

anytging more than a ‘hey isn’t it cool it’s a year away’ is bit much for me.

Oh yes! We went out to a very fancy dinner on our -1 anniversary. I think I even insisted on exchanging cards. lol. It was just such a fun time. I had to take advantage of it. Plus it was really important to get away from the wedding planning stress and remember what’s actually important.

I wanted to… Nothing crazy, just a date night which we do occasionally anyways. It’s exciting and special! But he told me that was ridiculous and it’s not special. Haha

We went to our venue (because I hadnt seen it in person haha) and walked around and then had lunch. It was fun! Not anything overblown but definitely sweet.

We will! I am working late on the day, but we’ll still try to do something nice.

There is a cupcake bakery near us that makes “wedding cake” flavored cupcakes. If you have something like that close to you, you could just bring home a cute little treat to share.
