I picked my own engagement ring.  Fiance said my budget was unlimited and he just wanted me to love my ring but I decided to be reasonable and keep it around $5k.

I did! I wanted a Moissy so I sent him a specific ring from MoissyCo that I’d been eyeing. It was less than $2k for the wedding set. He ordered it last week, and I can’t wait for it to be on my finger.

nope. He picked it out all on his own. The onlyl conversation we ever had was him saying “I always thought you’d like an antique/vintage ring” and I said that I would. The rest he did himself

I did! I came with many ideas and opions and wants and must haves. lol. We ended up picking and customizing a ring together. I liked that a lot because it made me feel it was more our ring and less all about me. no budget, but I really wanted a moissanite, so I feel I kept it very reasonable.

I did. I showed him a lot of rings I liked and we talked about aspect we liked. When we got engaged I showed him the ring I settled on and he bought it.

I didn’t have a specific number in mind for a budget, but I knew how much was affordable and kept it in that range. It came out to $550 for the engagement ring.

I had a picture on my computer that I told my friend about, who in turn (unbeknownst to me), told him about. He found the picture when I was went out to run an errand and took it to a custom online jeweler (http://www.brilliance.com) to get something similar made. It’s not an exact replica, but I love it even more than the original! I’m now obsessed with rose gold haha.

I picked my ring out. It hasn’t come in yet so no pictures. We have somewhat unique circumstances, so I set the budget for the ring (it ended up being between 5-10% of his gross salary), but I would recommend talking with your bf about what a reasonable budget is for you so that you don’t either end up disappointed or putting him in a bad financial situation.

I gave Fiance a shortlist (but made it clear which was my favourite) and I also set the low budget. I think he thought it should’ve cost more, but was happy to give me what I wanted.

I chose. ^_^ 7mm Forever Brilliant. He would’ve chosen a colored gem, but I don’t like color. I did want to stick to $600 and under, but he made some spec adjustments to the link I sent, which made it a bit more expensive. I was surprised by that and neither one of us has regrets about it.

Yep, I knew it was a style that could be done for as little or as much as he wanted to spend. Most of the cost would come from the size of the center stone and the halo. Him and I broadly talked budget of how we wanted to break down our overall wedding budget as far as wedding, engagement ring and honeymoon. I didn’t think he’d actually spend that huge amount until he told the jeweler “I’m thinking around a $20K budget for her engagement ring.”

This is my inspiration photo, he could adjust the center stone size as well as the halo size to fit his budget no problem. Same with using either white gold or platinum. I’m eagerly waiting on my ring. The only thing I said for sure was if we didn’t have the budget for a diamond, I would pick a different gemstone instead.

I chose my setting and expressed which diamond shape I wanted.  My DH chose the diamond.  We had roughly discussed budget which was dependent upon his bonus.

I picked the diamond out and also created a custom setting. So I guess you could say yes, I chose my e-ring myself!
