I have noticed how goregous everyones engagement rings are and I am really curious, did you pick them out on your own or did your hubby pick it out and surprise you?
I would definitely want to pick out my own ring or at least tell my fiance-to-be what I wanted. How does this work without ruining the proposal surprise? Would you pick it out with him months before ever getting engaged? Would you just tell or show him what you liked for when the “time comes(engagement).”

I mostly picked my ring out. Fiance was with me and helped me, his only stipulation was that the stone be a half carat, I wanted something smaller but I agreed to appease him and I love it!
ETA: It didn’t ruin the proposal at all for me, I loved having a say in what I was going to be wearing for the rest of my life and Fiance liked knowing that I loved my ring.

I had no idea he bought it so I guess I could say he picked it out. But I had shown him some pictures of rings I liked.

Other. He chose the diamond (he knew the shape I liked) and picked out a setting, but he didnt order the setting. He had it in a solitaire setting that was returnable and I ended up picking out a different setting (actually end up having it special made)
He made out though because what I made was cheaper than what he picked out. I like the setting he picked out, but when it was on my hand it just didnt feel right for me.

Well, in my case, we started looking at rings after he initiated “engagement” talk. Our ring shopping trips only happened twice and were pretty spur-of-the-moment…I tried on a few rings and he got a sense of what I liked (and didn’t like…3-stone wasn’t for me). Honestly, they were all so pretty that while I know the desgner of my ring, I can’t honestly say whether he chose the one that was my “favorite.” Either way, the ring he chose was perfect!

Fiance asked if I wanted to go look ay rings with him, and of course I said yes! I picked my top 2 or 3 at each store, and he ended up choosing my favorite out of them. It was pretty obvious which was my favorite.

Once we decided we were going to get engaged I showed him pictures of what I like and what I didn’t like. He knew what shapes and colors I liked. Then he picked something out that fit the criteria. Wouldn’t have had it any other way. I love my ring.

He proposed with out a ring so I got to pick it out. It was a lot of fun too 🙂

I didn’t vote… It was a joint effort! 😀

I designed it. I received the diamonds from my mother in law and custom designed what I wanted with a jeweler.

I picked it out but asked for his input… he wanted me to have something I will love wearing for the rest of my life, but I wanted him to love it too.

We went ring shopping a bazzillion times so he knew what I liked (any and everything round!) lol. He was so afraid he’d get me something I wouldn’t like but I kept telling him I just love all rings, so he has it easy! He proposed with a beautiful, delicate black diamond ring and then I picked out my ring a couple weeks later!

I chose it and bought it 🙂

We picked it out together. I showed it to him in the store and hinted heavily that I absolutely loved it, and he went back and got it for me. So…actually…more like I picked it, but he thinks he did 😛

Dad and Fiance picked it together.
