My husband proposed without a ring. He knew he was going to but was planning to a little further down the road so he thought he had time to pick a ring. One night we were standing in my parents driveway saying our goodbye for the night and he said he felt it was the right moment and he couldn’t wait so he asked. 🙂 Afterwards he asked me if I knew what I wanted and I told him no, I hadn’t thought about it. I decided to get online and look around and ended up finding one I really loved. I sent it to him and he bought it! lol

I will.

My taste in jewelry is very eclectic in every sense except my engagement ring. I normally go for rich yellow gold, jewels, hammered textures, colors. BUT for my ring I want the classic and always have. A platinum knife edge 6 prong round cut diamond ring.

He has been looking at the Tiffany website. I don’t care if it’s Tiffany but yeah, THAT ring is the only one I want.

We went to the store and I picked it out. We discussed it and I ended up having a metal allergy, so we decided I would try it on and discuss the metal alloys with them so, I tried on a bunch and picked mine. 😀

summerrose33 :  My fiancé and I shopped together. I wanted his input and since I am very particular he wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted (since I’ll be wearing it for the rest of my life). We shopped together, bought together,  but I didn’t know when we was planning on proposing. When he proposed I was surprised but didn’t want to be “surprised” by the ring he presented. 🙂 <3

We went ring shopping together to see what styles we liked, and I pretty much got to give a custom design to a local jeweler I found. We ended up choosing a moissanite solitaire and I’m glad we talked about it. We’re saving money and both got to learn more about what we value in an ering.

summerrose33 :

We shopped together for both e-ring v.1.0 and e-ring v.2.0.

I think if I ever upgrade again, I might just surprise him with a, “look what you bought me today, Sweetheart!”

Bling!

He proposed with a family ring. Because of reasons I just didn’t take to it. He was pretty upset about it at first but after much talk we decided to get a ring together. I had one in mine already, so I guess I picked it out.

We ended up getting a ring set from my mom as sort of a wedding present. She said we could do whatever we wanted with it. After much legwork with pawnshops and private buyers, thanks to my amazing Fiance, we got it sold. By that point we’ve been online and instore trying to haggle down the price for my dream ring with no luck. Watching it for months, one night they put a “Best Offer” option on their ebay listing. I jumped on the chance and offered all we received from the sell of the ring set my mom gifted us which was about half the asking price. They accpected!

My Fiance has always been a little hurt about me not taking to his family but after I told him about the deal I got on the ring, he was pretty excited. I love that it was such a team effort behind the ring I picked and that definitely helped make it “ours”

A couple of years ago he asked me what kind of ring style I liked and I told him I loved halos, that’s all, at the time I was obsessed with round halos. A couple of months ago he finally decided it was about time we get engaged so he chose the ring on his own, he told me he made his research and finally fell in love with the Tiffany soleste. It was a complete surprise for me, I never  considered a “square” halo, let alone a double halo but I can tell you that I LOVE it, I’m totally obsessed with it and all the rings I saw before now seem blah compared to my ering 🙂
