@pvaultingirl: i didn’t cry either. i actually didn’t have a “OMG THIS IS IT” moment… it was the first dress i tried on, loved it, tried on 15 hours, then decided with my Maid/Matron of Honor that the first was the winner.

i think it’s common not to cry, more than tv shows like to portray 🙂

I didn’t actually cry. I was super ecxcited and happy, but when I put on the veil and turned to my sister she was crying which made me get teary eyed. I turned away and said ok time to take it off, I so did not want to be standing there bawling my eyes out 🙂

Haha, my reaction was ‘I like it’, which for pretty much all the other dresses was not the case at all.  So mine wasn’t exactly crying just more finally feeling like oh, this dress is nice and makes me look good, I think it’s what I should get.

@pvaultingirl: I was excited. My mom was excited. My sister couldn’t care less. I didn’t have a, this is my dress moment, either. But once I put it on, I felt right in it. The crying, screaming, and jumping is all for show!

No crying here either… That show almost makes you feel like you haven’t found “THE DRESS” if you don’t cry.  I went to three different stores and didn’t cry with any dress and thought maybe I hadn’t found “THE DRESS”.  It wasn’t until my Maid/Matron of Honor asked me which dress I could picture myself walking down the aisle to my Fiance, that I knew…

I was excited, and I knew it was the one, but I didn’t cry.

I actually did cry, and I never would have thought I would.  I had tried on a lot of dresses that I “liked” but as soon as I had my dress on and saw myself I knew right away it was the one and really felt like a bride for the first time.  It was that feeling of “being a bride” that made me cry, not the dress itself though.

And I think the fact that I had been hoping to find the dress while I was with my mom (I live 550 miles away from her) and I just happened to find it on the weekend I flew home to go shopping with her helped with the water works.  It was a moment I desperately wanted to be able to share with my mom, and I got to…it was very exciting.

No, for me it was like a business acquisition or something. I did the whole going with a group of people experience and decided that wasn’t for me, since I was never true to my own feelings when being watched by friends and family, so I went to a bunch of dress shops solo. I would go through the selection, pick what I wanted to try on and said yes or no in militant style. When I put on my dress, I paused for like 5 minutes and sort of didn’t realize it at first that it was MY dress. I just kept thinking about how much I loved it and how different it was than anything else I’d ever seen. And I was so scared of dress regret that I refused to buy it until a week later.

No crying here! I did get a little bit choked up, but definitely no tears. I think I got choked up because I was relieved/excited and my mom was on the verge. I actually went just with my mom when we found it and we decided on it then and there. I brought others in to see it later on.

I didn’t cry but I loved my dress and like others got hopelessly excited and giddy

I selected “I never cry”, as in I would never cry over the beauty of a dress. However I was about to cry out of frustration when I couldn’t find the dream dress in my head and kept making rushed and bad purchase decisions. Had I found my vision, my reaction probably would’ve been a sigh of relief rather than tears. As I didn’t, it was a completely mental process of elimination between available choices.
