We worked with a jeweler to have two rings combined into one – I loved the shank on one ring but loved the crown from another, and they accommodated our requests.  I don’t think it could have turned out any more lovely than it did, and I get compliments on it all the time. We also had the wedding band custom fitted to the ER. The picture below is before I had them soldered together.

As far as the CAD process and picking out the stones, that was all dealt with by my husband, so I waited and waited for what felt like forever for him to propose and show me the ring!

madeforlove :  I designed my own engagement ring too! And do not worry, most folks on the Bee won’t judge you for it. 😊

My ring was based on an antique setting I saw with a much bigger stone. I wanted something very delicate.

Here are my CADS and also what the ring looked like in the end. I won’t lie, it was a nerve wracking process. I am not so sure I’d do it again, lol. But the ring turned out super beautiful (to me) and so it was all good in the end.

(Sorry for the monstrously huge pictures! No idea how to fix that)

I designed a 3 stone with a gold up to minimize the keel line, last December the ring was completed but there are a few things I want to change so I’m actually recasting it again next year. Sometimes you just don’t get it right the first round!

madeforlove :  Thank you!

ETA: in real life, even though the ring is yellow gold, the prongs are so very delicate you can’t even really see them. I was really pestering the designer because I was so afraid it would turn out all chunky, but it is super dainty.

KKJohnson :  WOW!!! Care to share the specs on your main stone? It is stunning.

madeforlove :  It’s a moissanite and I looked it up again: it’s a 6.5mm. That would be about a .75ct diamond (but my stone is an OEC) My ring size is 5.5 to give you an idea about proportions.

KKJohnson :  Holy Moly. It is incredible! (I am a tiny gem person, but even I can appreciate an amazing stone like yours! ) cheers!

I designed my wedding band 🙂 (Just made a post about it last night!)

I worked with the jeweler who made my engagement ring. I sent him some inspiration pictures and a general description of what I wanted and he did the rest! I was in love with the first CAD so I didn’t make any changes.

Here are my CADs and the final ring on my finger!

My husband and I designed the ring together and had a great experience working with David Klass. I knew exactly what I wanted and the very first CAD was perfect and needed no revisions. Here are some photos.

I haven’t had mine cast yet, but I just finalized my CADs! He also sent me a plastic model that I spray painted. Lol. Since then I’ve decided to go with unplated WG because I like the warmer color. I also bumped the stone sizes down a half a mm each so the setting is a bit big compared to the stones right now. The last pic is with the larger center stone but it shows the detail really well. I can’t wait to give him the ok to cast it!
