I didn’t do online only RSVP’s, so I can’t counsel on that, but I did get a lot of my guests RSVP’ing online.  With that came a lot of comments about how much they loved the website!  πŸ™‚

I hope someone else can chime in on the online only part!

We did, and it worked out wonderfully. We did have a phone number listed as well for the few people who were less tech-savvy, but only a couple people used it and they’d already been electronically RSVPd for by family members. I would definitely do it again. We also had ours hooked up to a google doc so that it kept track of everything. Very smooth.

We did only online RSVPs, and it worked great for us! I can’t rave enough about it!

I created a form in Google Docs and linked to it from our site (created for free using Google Sites).  It asked whether people needed transportation to the reception from the church, if they have allergies, etc.

I didn’t specify an RSVP date, but did make sure to follow up with folks we hadn’t heard back from.

We have all of the RSVPs in but 4 and we’re a month out – I consider that a success!

EDIT:  We did also specify a phone number people could call for the less tech-savvy, but no one did that – if they didn’t use the form, they emailed, and then I just replied and asked them all the questions in the form and linked back to it.  Hahaha.

Oh I’m so glad you posted this!  We are trying to decide whether to do this, so seeing all the responses will be so helpful!  Thanks πŸ™‚

I’d love to do it ONLY, but some of FI’s family friends can be…stuffy…so they were sent a paper version, with an enclosure directing them to the website for info and to RSVP online if they liked the option.

we did online RSVP using wedding wire. it was great.  It was time consuming entering all the names in there but it was so easy for the guests to rsvp, plus it made it really easy to do the seating arrangement once the rsvps came in.

We did it using wedding wire.com.   I had a friend recommend the site and I’m so glad she did! It was time consuming to get the info in there, but I used the site for our wedding site, for RSVPs, for our seating chart, etc… And now I have everyone’s addresses saved online for when I need them in the future πŸ™‚ I had no RSVP issues using this site – I highly recommend it!

ETA: We also did give my mom’s phone # for the non-techsavvy guests πŸ™‚ we had a few people (like age 70+ and lonely people) who called, but probably… 90-95% did it online

We are doing online RSVP’s and so far it’s working great. I created a form using google docs and everytime someone RSVP’s my google document is automatically updated. Which is absolutely LOVELY! I highly recommend them  – saves money AND is better for the environment!

Did anyone have any issues with people rsvp’ing for extra guests? My fiance and I talked about doing online rsvp’s and that was our only concern.

@Ms.Ninja:  We did not have this issue at all – I don’t think that wddingwire.com allowed any additions. at least, I didn’t have this issue and I’ve seen several other brides on here agreeing that they didn’t have this issue with weddingwire πŸ™‚

@Ms.Ninja:  We specified on the information card that X seats had been reserved in your honor. Then we had a note on the RSVP site to please not exceed that number. No one did! No one even asked if they could bring an extra person. We used weddingwire, and everyone had to enter their own name, but we didn’t have any problems at all.
