Hi Bees! Newbie here. Getting engaged very soon and we’ve agreed that we don’t want to have a big wedding. We’ve talked about going to the courthouse but now I’m considering eloping to a warm, beachy location. I’d love to do it in March (18th) as that date holds a special meaning to me but I know that’s spring break time for a lot of locations and not very far into the future.
Anyone elope during the month of March? Somewhere in the US? Where did you go? Was it amazing? Tips? Feedback?

We eloped in September at San Francisco City Hall.
However, I did look into a company that services the Gulf Coast of FL called Tide The Knot Beach Weddings. They have some nice packages that would accommodate either an elopement or intimate wedding on the beach.
Florida Beach Weddings. Simple. Elegant. Eclectic.

We had a planned elopement in Orlando at the Secret Garden in the summer then went to Disney World after (with 6 year old step child). I loved it! the ceremony was so private and special and with pics ran about $300 with an extra charge for guests. We feel we got a great deal and the pic we’re beautiful in my opinion. We a super proud of our wedding choices from rings, to dress the ceremony we got exactly want we envisioned for great prices.

We eloped while on a beach vacation! We planned it out so that we stopped at the closest court house to Ocean City on our way to the beach to apply for our marriage license, then at the end of our vacation we went back to the courthouse to get married. No witnesses are required in Maryland, so it was just us but it was adorable, especially with how sandy and sunburned we were, but definitely easy and no regrets!

I got married in St. Augustine, Florida on March 31, 2016, on the sailboat in my profile pic. At sunset. It was gorgeous and very inexpensive. The company does private wedding ceremonies on the boat. St. Augustine Eco Tours. Theres also tons of Bed & Breakfasts in St. Augustine that will do elopement ceremonies, complete with cake, champagne, and bouquet.

ELopements can happen at a number of places, but I would recommend doing something that is significant for the 2 of you, or an epic dream vacation for you both!
Most National and State parks can have elopements. In it’s simplest form, you really only need an officiant and the 2 of you… but I highly recommend splurging a bit on a photographer that can document this meaningful ceremony that is just the 2 of you! We loved our photos from http://www.seaandink.com — it is a husband and wife team… they can even help recommend locations if you want! They also have some packages that can include the officiant, something sweet to celebrate and florals. 🙂

You should definitely consider an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean. Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and especially Mexico will have the best rates. The resorts have wedding departments and packages built in so you can get as little or as much as you need, plus they will certainly have packages for just the two of you or small packages for little guest lists.
Then you’ll get your rooms and food all included separately. You simply go to your local courthouse and get married, then host your ceremony in paradise.

We eloped at a bed and breakfast near where we live. It was March, and we were lucky that the weather cooperated. We bought an elopement package, so it included everything that we needed. We were very happy with most it, but our officiant was quite drunk during the service. I would just be really careful when looking at reviews, and would try to ask around to get personal recommendations.
