Yes indeed- my husband tried to keep it a secret, but he didn’t have my ring size. Since we were in a long distance relationship at the time, he sent me 4 voicemails and 3 emails asking what my ring size was, and then mentioned that he was planning a trip to visit me and my family over Thanksgiving. Kind of a hint….

That said, he still found a moment to surprise me! Even though I knew that it would be coming, I still didn’t quite know when it would be:)

Hi! Welcome!

Yep, I was absolutely sure for about a month that I knew when it was going to happen. Then on the day of I freaked out in case I had it all wrong and I’d be disappointed. Then I freaked out when I realised it definitely was happening. Exhausting! Thankfully part of the day he planned included a massage, so I lay there going “Oh my God” over and over in my head. By the end of it I’d calmed down and got to enjoy the day so getting engaged was just the icing on the cake. I had to just relax and trust my gorgeous Fiance and thankfully he did it.

Good luck and enjoy.

We looked at rings, and I didnt know he had purchased it. We got into a small fight the morning of our engagement, he kept saying “I can’t wait to marry you” – and I told him that it wasnt fair for him to keep saying that to me while I was waiting.

That afternoon, we went out to Coney Island and he propsed on the boardwalk! I was so suprised!

I definitely did not expect it coming when it did come. I knew we would get engaged some time this year or next year, but I expected it later. I did not even know he had a ring yet. For me it worked out perfectly because that was my only requirement – a surprise! πŸ™‚ good luck and enjoy! It will work out perfectly either way!

yes i knew it was coming, i picked the ring, i guessed the date (he didn’t tell me whether i was right or not though) and i knew it was coming down to the minute because he didn’t propose before dinner on our anniversary so i knew it would happen on our walk after, and he did! πŸ™‚ knowing when exactly it is happening does not deter from the moment in any way at all! it does not ruin one jot of it, i was still overwhelmed with emotion and happiness, cried and could not stop smiling πŸ™‚

I got engaged in NYC! In central park on those rocks that charolette from sex in the city had her engagement pictures taken on. I had no idea he had the ring, that he was planning and didn’t expect it that morning. When we started walking around the park in honestly like 2 feet of snow I thought something was up, then Fiance made a comment about how stupid it was to get engaged in central park….he must have known I thought something was up! So I forgot about it till we started climbing up on the rocks, I just knew. I remember saying in my head, “he’s going to propose here” but we started taking pictures and goofing off so I forgot again. But he did it on the rocks! It was so perfect!

We got engaged on vacation too! I kind of knew it was coming because he gave me hints. I don’t think that he intended to, but he told me pack my really nice dress for vacation (we went to universal studios in Orlando), asked if I was getting a manicure, wrote in my birthday card (which was 4 days before we left) that this vacation was going to be “unforgettable”, and in my christmas & valentines day cards wrote how this year was going to be the best. All stuff alluding towards the proposal. Then about 2 weeks before we went on vacation, he asked me about 10 times if i was for sure tutoring that day. What time would I be home by, etc. So I thought that was the day he was asking my dad for my hand in marriage. And I’m a talker so I couldn’t keep it in and told EVERYONE at work I thought he was going to propose that weekend.

Well anyway the first day of vacation he told me that he thinks I’m under the impression that he’s going to propose to me this vacation but that wasn’t the case. That he was just saying that stuff to be funny and that I shouldn’t take him seriously. I was about ready to cry. But I went to the parks with him and didn’t say much. Then the next day we were at Discovery Cove and he booked a private cabana, so I was like hmmm maybe this is it? Anyway we were in the lazy river and he pretty much knocked me down again and said I needed to get it out of my head. He wasn’t ready and he wasn’t going to propose. By this point I couldn’t hold it in anymore and just started to cry. I kept on thinking what an idiot I was and how stupid I would look when I went back to work. Plus I was really pissed he spent all that money and lead me on because he really made me believe he was proposing.

Anyway… We went swimming with the dolphins later that day and he proposed!!! So I was surprised because of everything he was saying.

@imagine8204:  No, I helped pick out my ring, he even told his mom when he only had one payment left on it. I pretty much knew he planned on proposing our trip out west, seemed the most logical time to do it since we were going to see his only living grandparent and my first time meeting her.

No freaking out waiting for it either, I knew it would happen when it happened. I was definitely itching to get that ring on my rfinger though. It was difficult to know what the ring loked like and tell my BFF about him having it without being able to show it off. I didn’t tell anyone else though and had a hard time getting my now Maid/Matron of Honor to keep a lid on it.

I knew it would happen sometime…within a few months maybe, hopefully by the end of the year lol

We had talked about it a lot, and he had asked for my ring size, so I knew he was at least looking at rings but I didnt know he had bought one. When it happened I was completely surprised!

It was actually just a lazy saturday morning and we decided to go out for lunch. So I went into my bathroom and got ready (when I am getting ready I close the door and blast music so I had no idea what was going on outside the door.)

When I walked out of the bedroom, he had the hallway all decorated with candles and roses…definitely a surprise proposal!

I hope yours is everything you wished for (and hopefully more!)

Nope, I sure didn’t! At least not when he proposed.. We had talked about it a little bit but nothing to indepth so I just thought it was nothing and no big deal. And when he got down on one knee in front of all of our friends, I just couldn’t believe it…

I actually still look down at my ring and think “WOW, I’m engaged!”

Yup, I knew. I knew he had the ring and he can’t keep anything from me for very long, so I knew it was coming within the weekend.

I kinda knew it was coming because we already live together and share everything. He kept saying we couldn’t go out or buy things anymore because he needed to save money and when I asked for what he said it was a surprize for me. Then when he started being sneaky and telling everyone else what the surprize was even my mom I pretty much knew I just didn’t know when it was going to happen. The day it happened I was nervous that maybe I was wrong. He picked me from work and the car was completely spotless (which it never is he keeps it a complete mess 274) and he told me we could go out to dinner wherever I wanted. After dinner we went for a car ride he refused to tell me where but it ended up being a park along the river. We sat down at one of the benches and he started rambling by then I know I was right  and then he pulled the ring out and asked me to marry him. I froze with a stupid smile on my face and didn’t say anything I guess I was in shock lol he said he is that a yes? and in the tiniest voice i said yes. The other people in the park going by started yelling your engaged!

I’m not engaged yet, but we have talked about wedding stuff and spending our lives together, and future kids as well since we were dating for about 4-5 months. We had also talked about styles of rings and browsed online together. About the same time he told me to go get sized, so I went with one of my good friends from work…..and fell in love with one at Wedding Day Diamonds. Since my sizes were different at 2 of the places (specifically different with the ring designer who held the one I fell in love with because of the ring — Verragio Insignia 7050 if anyone’s wondering). He said the one I fell in love with is the one I would get then….and told me to have the person write down the information, which I had already done (He didn’t know I had left Wedding Day already lol). Sooooo then when we were dating about 8 months, we went to a movie in the same town Wedding Day Diamonds was located in, and I totally jokingly said “We have extra time before the movie begins, do you want to stop at Wedding Day?…**short pause** JUST KIDDING” and he was dead serious and wouldn’t drop it. Sooo we walk in and look at it, and he said he saw this sparkle in my eyes when I held that ring (I have larger fingers so I wasn’t able to put it on my ring finger), compared to other rings that we looked at together in the store. That was THE ONE. We looked at wedding bands to go with it since I don’t like the one that they picture with it and pair with it from the designer — too much for me. AND we looked at some for him but he couldn’t decide on one for sure. I think he was a  bit overwhelmed. Soooo we put the one I loved on file, along with the wedding bands I loved as well……..and future Fiance just has to find a diamond, but I told him about Moissy stones and that I’m totally okay with them as they are beautiful and maybe (totally a MAYBE) get a real diamond for our 5 or 10 year wedding anniversary. Now I’m just waiting……..haha.

We’re moving in together October 1st, so I’m sure it’ll come in the months after that. I hope πŸ™‚
