I had absolutely no freaking clue that he was about to propose during our trip to Portugal, he totally surprised the heck out of me, so much that I didn’t say anything for a good 5 minutes lol… he actually had to say are you ready to answer me now? hehe

@imagine8204:  He just might do that! Because I was saying the same stuff to him. Like, “Did you make any big purchases lately.”

Sometimes they are so excited that they can’t hold it in. I’m kind of the same way with my dress. I picked it out and I want to show it to him so bad, but I know I can’t.

Well we went ring shopping in July of 2011 and I thought it would happen shortly thereafter. We had our first year anniversary the next month, my birthday the month after that, thanksgiving, christmas and new years all traditional times to do that sort of thing. They all came and went. After new years, I pretty much talked myself into thinking it would be many more months and maybe even years before he would. We had a lot on our plate at that time, so I understood why it would be a while.

It was tough to wait because I hate being out of the loop and not knowing was sooooo hard. Middle of April this year, he wanted to just go and do a fancy dinner date. I thought nothing of it because sometime he can be this really cheesy romantic guy. I was just happy to get all fancy for him and to see him in a suit. I thought nothing of it. And it’s funny because we were on the way to a surprise location (he wouldn’t tell me and took me a different route to fool me so I wouldn’t know where we were) we began to talk about marriage. And I said I knew it would be a long time before he proposed and I was okay with it.

Not even fifteen mins later, we were on the beach where we had our first date and he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I stood there in absolute shock and could not answer back until about the fifth time he asked if I was going to answer. I loved the fact that I had no clue

The only reason I knew was because he was acting weird and was trying to figure out my ring size without straight out asking. That gave it away. lol

Fiance proposed to me in late 2011. We had been talking about it for sometime and I knew it was going to happen in 2011, just not sure when. In December we had actually booked a trip to orlando to visit the harry potter world theme park. I totally thought it was going to be when we were in orlando, but to my surprise, the fiance proposed the weekend before just to “throw me off”

I knew it was going to happen soon. We would look at rings together and stuff like that. He did manage to somewhat surprise me though 🙂

Since we were both in college we figured we’d get engaged spring of my senior year. So.. we didn’t have an exact time decided but we planned for sometime in March/April.

I guess he didn’t think it would be enough of a surprise so he bought the ring when he was back home during our winter break. So, without my knowing, he kept the ring in his apartment for about 2 weeks before he proposed that January.

So.. I knew it was coming.. but it came sooner than I thought. 🙂 It was such a sweet proposal and a great surpise!
