We are not doing a first look and will have about two hours between the ceremony and cocktail hour for photos. We will be taking a few bridal party photos beforehand, me with my Maid/Matron of Honor and my Fiance with his best man. We also plan on going around town for a lot of our photos so we allotted extra time.

We will be attending the cocktail hour so our guests do have a two hour break which I think will be fine. My parents will be opening up their hotel room for people to come have snacks or a pre-cocktail hour drink.

We have 4 hours set aside for photography to make sure we have enough time since photography is really important to me(and us). an hour will definitly be rushed for sure…family photos of not a large family take at LEAST 20 minutes-remember we have to get all the family members ready and in place, trying to find uncle svenly who was inside somewhere getting and drink etc. so it definitly takes time.

We’re doing a first look with just the 2 of us at our winery and then another 45 minutes at a local gardens for some nice photos of just me and future hubby and then 40 minutes of pictures with our bridal party and then 30 minutes of family photos at cocktail hour- and of course, getting ready photos with me and my girls, portraits and some quick family photos before our first look.

This may be over the top for some but we aren’t rushed, get to enjoy the day and have some beautiful first look photos-cant wait!

What we did was write up a list of groups to take photos and allowing extra time for a couple of people who want to take another photo with the couple and themselves as well.

From looking at the list and adding on an extra half hour time for whatever reason is delayed would help determine how long you will need for photos, the list is very important, you do not want to fall behind of your wedding schedule.

The crowd at mine was probabaly 80 and with the list and groups come and go with photos, there was a decent amount of time to take photos with couples and individuals who were in groups but wanted separate photos too. From memory, my photo session was almost 1.5 hours. We still managed to do 2 locations for bridal party photos, 1 at the ceremony after everybody at left and 1 at another location near reception.
