Yes, at first my finger found it irritating to have “something extra” on there all the time but now it’s adjusted and it has that same “something’s not right” feeling if I’m NOT wearing it.

Not really. Fiance had bought me a gorgeous opal ring for my birthday a few year ago. Then for our 5th anniversary this past September he bought me a huge sapphire ring so I had experience beforehand. I always wore them on my ring finger.

@LincsMama:  I don’t wear mine all the time and it bothers me when I have it on. I’m constantly ”playing” with it. I’m not used to wearing rings, it feels uncomfortable to me. I usually put it on when I get out and take it off when I come one (FI does the same with his). I couldn’t wear jewelry all the time, it irritates my skin. Although I do have the ”weird” feeling of having a naked finger when I’ve been wearing the ring all day and take it off. It’s like my finger can’t decide if it’s annoying or missing, lol !

@LincsMama:  It depends on the size and style of your ring as to whether you’ll find it feels strange on your hand – mine does get in the way on occassion but I knew that would be the case due to the style I wanted. I just roll with it – happy to put up with it for the sake of my beautiful ring!

I do still get it caught on things or knock it every now and then and I take it off when I shower/sleep or do something particularly hands on so as not to damage it. But I think you’ll be fine! It might take some getting used to but you’ll love it 🙂

Congrats!

EDIT – I just saw the pic of your ring! Yay! I think you’ll be fine, yours appears to sit closer to your finger than mine, our jeweller designed mine to sit up high so the wedding band could fit underneath and I wouldn’t need one that curves around 🙂

@LincsMama:  Yup. It felt weird at first. My Fiance also thought it was weird to hold my hand and “something was in the way” for a while. lol It feel natural now, though, and I feel weird when I don’t have it on. You’ll get used to it soon enough.

Nope, I’ve worn a ring on my left ring finger since I was probably 13 and I feel naked without one on. I had a favorite ring that only fit on that finger that I wore until I lost the ring, then a purity ring (didn’t last long lol), which was replaced with a promise ring, which was then replaced with my engagement ring. 🙂
