The salon i went to didn’t let you “roam the racks.”  She said they had 400 dresses somewhere in the store.  All of the dresses I tried were picked by my consultant (though some of them were from pictures I brought in, but those looked bad on me).

I picked it out and I’m glad- some of the consultants projected some of their sense of taste to my various bridal store trips. One woman at Pronovias kept trying to put me in drop waist gowns, which did not flatter me AT ALL.

My consultant found it! It was the fourth store I had been to so I had an idea of what silouette would work, I described what I wanted and the very first dress she brought me was the one! I don’t think it would be rude of you to ask to look aroun though! I didn’t go to any stores where they wouldn’t let me do that, however I did find it overwhelming to do that in some stores since there were just so many dresses!

The salons I went to let me roam…saw what types of dressed I tried on. And then the consultant brought out a few more she thought would suit me. Ultimately I chose a dress I might never have even looked twice at, but she thought I might like it and I LOVED it.

I went in specifically asking for one dress in particular, and left with that dress.

My consultant did.  She was fantastic.

I’m like kate02121 – I was able to roam and pick out my own dresses to try on, but the consultant pulled a few she thought might work for me as well.  I was next to her when she pulled “the one” and I almost told her to put it back because it was everything I thought I didn’t want!  Turns out – I wanted it!  It definitely wouldn’t be rude of you to ask – the worst they can say is no, but you’ll never know unless you ask!  Good luck and have fun Sealed

Maybe get the best of the both worlds and roam together? That way you can look and she can get an idea of your tastes?

The consultant picked mine for me … something I would never ever have picked for myself.

Oh, and this was at DAVID’S BRIDAL. So naturally, I don’t share anyone else’s hatred for that place Smile

We were allowed to roam the racks, and my sister found my dress.  Not on the rack, but actually on another girl.
