I got a slice of every flavor! Cake was my priority. I also took home the equivalent of 1/2 an 8 inch round cake of the carrot cake. It was so good!

@s2bmrscook:  I swore I would eat a piece of cake.  We both finished all of our dinner (thank goodness they served us first!) but by the time we cut the cake, I had my bite he fed me and was too ready to drink and dance for any cake.  Fortunately there was a massive piece leftover so I had a lot the next day 🙂 We wound up with the top layer; however, it wasn’t handled very well and had to travel 8+hours home with us….I cut off a big slice and froze it.  I do NOT have high hopes for how it will taste in a year…

Yep! I definitely hunted myself down a piece of cake to eat.

Then they sent us home with the top tier to freeze, and 1/3 of the cake leftover (which Father-In-Law tried to steal, By The Way. I was having NONE of that!)

So I actually ate about 1/3 of the wedding cake. Yeah. It was good.

And we have the top tier for our anniversary!

We didnt even get to cut ours, let alone eat it! I asked the catering manager where it had vanished to as we needed to cut it for photos and he almost burst into tears!!! He thought we had ‘fake’ cut it for photos so had taken it out back and hacked it to pieces. Poor guy looked devastated!

@s2bmrscook:  Nope! We hardly even had our dinner!

Thank god there were leftovers because that mac and cheese was calling my name ALL night

I made it a point to my wedding planners that I wanted to get at least one piece of cake beyond the bites we fed each other. I actually ended up eating 3 pieces, each a different flavor, and they were so yummy.  DH is not a big cake person so he didn’t want any extra.

We froze the top layer and had it on our 6 month anniversary since it is on New Year’s Day. We had champagne and cake at midnight to celebrate. I wanted to order a small cake on our one year anniversary but never got around to it.

We had cupcakes and then a small wedding cake (think top tier of a cake). When we “cut the cake” it was from the actual cake and it was the tiniest slice known to man (I still tease Dh about this). The rest of it was packed away and frozen, to be eaten over the course of the first year of our marriage.

Ithink we each had a cupcake, but if I recall correctly I only had a bite or two. I don’t think we ate much at all! It was a dessert reception but with everyone to mingle with and all the pictures to take, etc, we didn’t eat much of anything and were starving when we left.

We didn’t have cake at the actual wedding (intimate wedding with dinner afterward), but at our big ole reception the next weekend, we had a deeeelicious white cake with vanilla pudding and strawberries between the layers, and the most perfect whipped frosting. So yes, I had a piece! And then we had two more pieces of leftovers the next two days, lol.

We didn’t freeze any, but I love the idea of a one-year anniversary cake! You bees have the best ideas!

Also, I ordered a little Etsy Christmas ornament replica of our cake today. I’m so excited!

@s2bmrscook:  Yes! I made sure to actually eat some. It was DELICIOUS. Pineapple! Even though I was already full because I made sure to eat, and I was running out of space in my stomache because my dress was corseted up and my belly couldn’t expand.

We were married in Mexico, so there was no chance I was going to bother bringing some cake home but I think our first anniversary is a wonderful excuse to get some fancy cake. 😀

Not married yet but I have been wanting to have a piece of our wedding cake again since the second I finished the last bite at the tasting!

I will MAKE SURE I get an entire piece of cake.

@s2bmrscook:  we had a 3 teir with different flavours, fruit, lemon and chocolate orange. I LOVE CAKE!!! we didnt feed any to each other (not  done that much in UK) but the caterering staff were awesome and walked trays of cake round in the evening so i managed to grab a peice then.

in our ‘day in detail’ meeting with the venue i made sure i asked them to put a small slice of each flavour for me and DH in our room along with some of the evening buffet for when we retired for the evening – i knew we would be starving. so i managed to have a peice of each flavour!!

(not forgetting the wegde of each flavour we got to take home the next day!! OM NOMM NOM!! – i majorly overestimated how much cake i would need! i regret NOTHING!!)

we didnt freeze any – our friend made the cake for us so im going to ask her to make a mini replica for our anniversary! cant wait – the choc orange was to die for!!!

We had them wrap up the top tier to take home on the plane, but when it came down to it, we decided to leave it and agreed to just get a piece of cake on our 1 year anniversary.  DH had been married previous and he even told me “year old wedding cake ain’t all that” LOL

We did not get any of our cake! We did the traditional cutting and tasting, I told everyone else that the cake was awesome and to eat plenty of it, but then I got carried away with more pictures, visiting and dancing! I didn’t even realize until mid-honeymoon that we didnt’ have cake. Luckily we had a lot left over (like the bottom tier of the bridal cake and part of the grooms cake!). My mom saved it for us and while it was good, after a week it just wasn’t as fresh as new. We didn’t save the top tier, so we’ll get a new cake for the anniversary 🙂

I had the small bit DH fed me, and that was it for the day of. Luckily, we had leftovers, so during clean up the next day, I had an actual, delicious piece of wedding cake! I think we froze some too for an anniversary…it might be in my mom’s freezer? I better check on that!
