@MichiganGirl24:  we won our engagement shoot for free at a bridal show. They came out absolutely amazing! We actually blew one of the pictures up and made it a canvas and now it’s our living room wall decoration!

Yes, we did e-pics and I’m so glad we did! They were a part of our package but I was still nervous about having them done. They turned out wonderfully and it really reassured me that we made the right decision with our photographer. I’m far less nervous about our wedding photos now!

Nope. They’re sooo cheesy most of the time. Neither of us are big on photos. We had family do wedding photos.. and it all turned out fine.

@MichiganGirl24:  We are getting ours done next weekend.  Included in the package and I’m excited to have pro photos of us not all done up for the wedding.

Also, I totally think you should do yours anyway!! Rainy photos can be totally amazing as long as you’re willing to stand in it.  🙂

@MichiganGirl24:  We didn’t…while it would have been nice, I know my man and I am going to have a hard enough time getting him to play along for professional pics AT the wedding…never mind before the wedding. I did not even suggest e-pics to him. Haha.

We did not. It isn’t something I care much about.

We did, however we were already married for one month at the time.

I had a very convoluted engagement.  We booked the photog, paid the depost, then cancelled the wedding because my dad was dying.  We later got married after my dad passed away, but it was up in Canada 15 hours away.  We went with a Canadian photog there, but still had to use this local girl for something as the desposit was non-refundable.  So by the time we could get to it, we were already married 1 month.

I could have done without it, but it really lets you test the waters on how it is to work with that particular vendor.

I did, I wouldn’t have known about e-shoots if it weren’t for the bee. I’m so thankful we have some lovely photos. It was also good to get used to a camera, I’m not great at taking photos, so for me it was a valuable experience.

Fiance wants to get them done but I think they are kind of pointless. Everyone wants to take pictures for EVERYTHING now. Where do you draw the line?

I would rather spend money that was to be spend on e-pics on a nicer wedding photographer. I don’t care much to remember ‘that one day when we were engaged’. I’d much rather spend money on remembering my wedding day.

@MichiganGirl24:  we got ours done just over a month after we got engaged and used them on our STD cards for our destination wedding. The same photographer (a friend of mine) is also coming to the wedding to do our photos and offered to do e-photos so we could be comfortable with her. Since then she’s also done some pet photos for us. She’s awesome 🙂

@MichiganGirl24:  I didn’t vote in your poll, because, although we did have engagement photos, they aren’t the kind I think you’re referencing.

At the time I became engaged in 2008, I did not know that people had these beautiful, photojournalistic engagement shoots where they appear outdoors and in various settings wearing several different changes of clothing. My now-DH and I went to a studio and had some traditional, close-up engagement photos taken.  I do love the way that they turned out, but I also wish I had known about the type of engagement pictures that I’ve subsequently seen others do in real life and on WB.
