I’m having a small wedding, but I wrote in the names on all of the RSVP cards so that I wouldn’t have to worry about this. I think initialing is probably a good idea!

    I’d probably number them.

That’s why you put numbers on the cards, and match them up to your list. Either teeny tiny on the back or get an invisible ink marker.

@everyheart:  I don’t think we got any back with no names, but we did get some back where we could not read the handwriting. Our guest list was in a spreadsheet, so we assigned each guest a number and penciled it on the back of their reply cards. This was super useful for the few that we could not read!

You can get a UV Pen and write the names of people you send it out to  and they can’t see it, but when you get them back you shine a black light on it and there is their name!

@everyheart:  I numbered mine.  I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to read writing.. but I didn’t need to use any of the numbers at the end.  The funny thing is, i got back and evelope with no card inside!  If I were doing it again, I’d number the envelope! 🙂

I didn’t get any back without names but since hand writing is hard to understand i numbered the back of mine. it just made it easier in the long run.

@everyheart:  I wouldn’t think that. I would probably think that the list was alphabetized if anything. I had to alphabetize my list of the calligrapher, so I am pretty sure that is how I did my numbers too.

@everyheart:  You can buy them on amazon. Or you can get a “Sonic Screwdriver” from Doctor Who (I am a big fangirl)on amazon too. It has the pen and the light on the same device. I am not sure if 11’s screwdriver does it, but 10’s does.

Now that I have officially geeked out, I am sure you can just get a basic black light pen from amazon and a black light.

OMG!!! I would say 75% of my RSVPs came back with no names on them!!!! I don’t know what is so hard about writing a name and checking a box. GRRR!

The best thing i did was write a number on the back of the rsvp card and note that number next to their name in my address book. Saved me so much time and effort!

I got some back with “Mr. & Mrs. XYZ” where XYZ is my FI’s last name… so it pretty much applies to any married male in his family.  Luckily I had numbered the backs.
