    Yes, and I regret it.

    Yes, and I love it.

No, and I wish I did.

No, but I love it now.

I had no preference, but I wish it was a different size.

I had no preference, and I love it.

@mrspinesol:  Mine’s a cluster, so, it doesn’t really apply, but it’s the perfect size for me. A couple of jewellers I spoke to when I was getting it copied suggested doing away with the micro-pave halo and having larger stones in the middle, and it made me cross; for me, it’s perfect as is.

If I’d wanted a solitaire, we’d probably have gone with around a 0.75/0.8ct; and with a halo, something like a 0.65ct.

    I wanted a 0.7 moissanite and I got a 1.10 peach sapphire.

I love it though…..I think smaller stones look best on my hand.

I was thinking a 1 ct, maybe like 1.3 max. Ended up with a 2 ct because Fiance insisted, and I love it, although it’s a bit big for my hand (I wear a 5.5). It’s a solitaire, too, which just emphasizes it more.

Definitely! I wanted an 8x6mm FB enhanced moissanite (approximately 1.5 carats I guess), and I got it! We both picked out the ring together after he proposed to me, so the setting and stone is something we both fell in love with

I honestly hadn’t thought much at all about the size.  I’d thought about the ring – yellow gold, and something dainty, or maybe an emerald, but it was all general fantasizing stuff.  I never really thought about it seriously. My .67 carat feels enormous on me, since I typically wear very tiny jewelry (I don’t like to be too flashy) without jewels, but I surprised myself by loving the crap out of it.  I love how it stands out, how it sparkles, everything.  It’s the perfect ring!

I originally wanted an 8×6 sapphire but after seeing how small it looked I decided to go up to a 9×7. I ended up right in the middle because of a last minute upgrade to a much higher quality stone but I wish I had stuck with my 8×6 as I only ended up slightly bigger and paid what ended up being a couple grand more than quoted for the 8×6.

I don’t think my stone would have been in the quoted 8×6 budget though so I guess everything happens for a reason as I love my stone!

Yes and no.  My realistic want was for .75 ct.  My dream was 1.75.  He got me 1.3 and I’m thrilled with it.  It just didnt make financial sense to him to spend anymore on this material item that serves no purpose other than to be pretty.

When we chose the stone, I had a choice between a warmer 1.51 ct or the near colorless 1.27.  Because I could tell a HUGE difference between the colors (I just prefer whiter, but no hate for warmer stones) and not a lot of difference in the size, I chose the smaller marquise.  Although I have to admit to shrinkage on occasion, I think once I add my 1 ct. channel band, it will all be just fine!

I did I did πŸ™‚ I told him no larger than a .7, and he stuck to it. I prefer a smaller stone on my finger.
