Mine was super different that what i wanted it took a long time for me to start liking it tbh i feel very guilty about that but he desogned my ring and melted down his grandmothers to make it. Now i always advise ladies to not het set on any specific style because it is a really awful weird mix of emotions when you get one thats different from what you pictured.

I 100% picked mine out! My Fiance was more than fine with that as long as the proposal would still be a surprise (it was). At first I felt bad about picking out my ring but then my mom told me that she picked out her e-ring and I knew my sister had too. I guess it runs in the family! I’m so happy with my ring though.

crackerjax :  I got a plain band for the wedding ring. He couldn’t afford an engagement ring and then years later he picked one out. It was ugly, the store wouldn’t take it back, so it went in a drawer and was later stolen by the cleaning service. Still waiitng for the one I want! On a positive note, I did like the box! ๐Ÿ™‚

I did get the ring I wanted and I could not love it more!  I told my Fiance that I wanted a blue sapphire, his birthstone, in rose gold.  He wanted to pick out the ring by himself but we have completely diffent taste so I knew that would never work.  I needed something different than anyone else I knew, so one from a local jeweler would not work.  I feel in love with Heidi Gibson’s rings after months of searching.  I knew he still planned to pick something out himself even though i told him this is the ring I want.  So I finally told him, “You could propose with no ring and I would say yes, but I will be disappointed if the ring i have my heart set on isn’t in the box when you open it.”  i knew my facial expression would give away my true feelings and he would be hurt and I would never want to hurt him especially over something like a ring, so we had to have the talk.  He was thankful in the end that I told him, it made things so much easier for him.

I have not gotten my ring yet, but since I am so detail oriented I picked out the exact one I want. I am still worried because it is a solitaire and he is going to go in to buy it and face all the questions about the 4Cs (or in this case 3, the place I want it from has excellent cut only) and I am wishing I could say I would like a minimum of this size, this colour, this clarity, this metal type, and then he can play around with anything above to make it fit his budget but obviously that would be pretty psycho so yeah. Not happening. lol, I just hope the people at the store explain it all to him and make it easy for him to get the best ring at the best price!

I got the ring I wanted and couldn’t be happier. I told him what I liked and let him handle the rest. I believe my best friend may also have been involved in helping him decide hahaha

We had a brief conversation about what I wanted (solitare, platinum, rest up to him). He said ‘are you sure’. I said yes. He even asked if I wanted to help choose it. I said No, I was excited to see what he would choose.

He got me exactly what I wanted and more (I would have been just as happy with smaller).

nordiclight :  well since you have discussed in detail and even told him which store to go to…do you think you could perhaps say to him like don’t go below this color and tell hima range of ct weight you’d prefer? Seems like you guys have been open about all of it so far?:)
