Hello my wonderful bees! 🙂 I turned 21 today & without the first drink. I started wondering if I was alone? For the most part out of everyone I know the first thing someone does on their 21st is go buy their first alcoholic beverage. Weather it be at a bar or just in a store.
My husband did this! He is not a drinker. Only been drunk a handful of times in his entire life. But he did it. He didn’t do it, just to do it though. We did actually drink & celebrated. I on the other hand (celebrated early) with my husband & family at my mom’s house. We BBQ’d, ate cake, I opened presents & just enjoyed being with my husband & family. Then today I ate peanut butter no bake candy & watched netflix all day. I know that may seem sooo boring to most people but I am not a club going type. If I drink I do it at home with my husband & close friends. It usually turns into a game night with lots of food & good company. Still though, I am not a drinker either so its rare.
Back to the point of this post – Did you get wasted on your 21st? What did your day consist of?

In Alberta it’s your 18th birthday, and no I didn’t. I didn’t even try alcohol (other than a sip of wine as a young child) until several months later, and I hated it.

I didn’t. but here the drinking age, etc is 18. i had a few on my 18th for sure 🙂 on my 21st i had a jane austen themed party, with high tea music, my Fiance rented a Mr Darcy costume, and i bought a regency style dress in a vintage shop 🙂

No. I drank and went out to clubs but I didn’t get “wasted.” The club thing was no big deal because I had been going there for years with a fake ID.
I did get wasted on my 20th birthday. I celebrated in Europe and my study abroad cohorts pretty much had to carry me home. It was an amazing birthday.

I had 2 drinks with my coworkers (I was at an internship out of state and didn’t know anyone else). I knew 2 drinks wouldn’t get me wasted so I set a limit and stuck to it. Only one person was annoying about it.

My birthday is on New Years Eve. Most years we do not go out (don’t like crowds, it is expensive, we think its too dangerous to be on the road, ect), but for my 21st birthday we did go out to a karaoke bar and I did drink.
Happy birthday to you! I sat at home today watching netflix too. What are you watching?

I went out to a bar to have my first legal drink(s), but I was so exhausted from my college semester ending that I couldn’t even enjoy myself. I was never the type to get really crazy drunk either. It was nice actually remembering the good times rather than blacking out like most people I know.

Living in the wine country at that point meant being wasted was a typical weekend event, regardless of one’s age. Traveling a great deal also meant that once I was 18 I could openly drink in Europe (hooray!).
My 21st birthday was a simple party and yes I had A cocktail but by then drinking was no longer the “cool” thing in my 21 year old mind. 😛
/Renting a car however, that was still cool. Obligatory 25 year old age rule.

I got wasted and it was a fun night! I was in college and my birthday was a Wednesday so I had classes that day and the day after. However, when I turned 21 at midnight, my roomie (who was one of my BMs in my wedding) took me out to a few bars down the street. It was just us two, but we ended up becoming friends with the bartender and the bouncers at the bar and I even had like 3 random people at the bar buy me shots! It was fun 🙂

My birthday was on a Wednesday night so I had work in the morning. My Fiance and I made crab legs and steak and I bought a bottle of wine to have with it. Got totally trashed with a handful of friends that weekend though!

On my 21st birthday, I was in Australia where the drinking age is 18. In fact, I legally went out and had a couple of drinks 2 days before my 21st, which was totally weird! My birthday was the first day of the semester, though, so I didn’t drink on that day. But if I had been at home, I probably would have had a drink in a bar, but nothing crazy!

@Jacqui90: I made a poll so you can vote, with whatever age is the legal age for you! 🙂
@Meowkers: Yes, pretty much everyone here was going to clubs/bars at the age of 16. I never did though. Cheers to an amazing birthday in Europe!
@asscherlover: Was someone trying to get you wasted? lol
@MissTatas: Earlier I watched “The Haunted” & “Ice Road Truckers.” Now I am wathicng Halloween (Michael Myers.)
I am like you, I don’t like crowds either. Eeek. Thank you!
@Rouquine: Yea, its always a good think to be able to remember the night. hahaha Thank you!

For my 21st birthday, we played “sangria pong” because I love playing beer pong, but I hate beer. We didn’t think about the fact that sangria/wine is much stronger than beer, so we all ended up getting inadvertently wasted within the first round!

I get wasted every birthday so 21 was no different.
