Just out of curiosity, did you get the ring you really wanted?
I hope this thread doesn’t cause offense, at the end of the day we’re all marrying the man of our dreams and that’s the most important thing
Oh and this is really just an excuse to see all your beautiful rings again! So post away bees

I’ll show you mine if you show me yours…
I didn’t have much of a dream ring in mind – though I’d always imagined something simple, preferably silver, with just a small stone (I’m not a fan of big, blingy jewellery – or the cost of big, blingy jewellery!). But my fiance got me (one basically like) this out of the blue, and I love it!! It’s a yellow sapphire with 0.5 carat diamonds on either side

@LadyElva: Ooh that’s stunning, good choice by your Fiance.
lol of course! here’s mine:)
I really couldn’t decide what style I wanted ( I went from a cluster, to a 3 stone similar to yours to a solitaire) and in the end just went with what I thought looked nice on my finger…

Yes! Ever since I can remember I have wanted the yellow gold Tiffany Setting, not just a replica, I mean bought from Tiffany’s, I got my dream ring 0.6carats, VSI, E/F colour, ideal cut

@NM32: yeah I was very very happy when he agreed to buy it, I went in before we got engaged, just to see whether I liked it on my hand (he wanted me to have input and a say in the ring so he could make sure I loved it) and the ring I tried on fit PERFECTLY! I just knew it was meant to be 🙂 Then a while later I took him in to look at it and see whether he liked it on me also, he did, then a week after that he went in to order it in my size. They said that the ring he bought would be the one they had on display, so the one I had tried on. I just love it so much, even now 6 months after we got engaged I can’t stop staring at it 🙂

Yes I got my dream ring. well i only told him the style I liked, not a specific ring. So he picked the ring he wanted to see me in that reflected the style I liked 🙂

What I wanted was over budget. Totally understandable. I got something else and I love it.

I have a dream ring but it is waaaaaay out of our budget at the moment, so we went to pick something together! 🙂

We had my set designed together, so it’s exactly what I wanted.

I never looked at rings with him really prior to the proposal, and I still couldnt tell you the cut, carat size, clarity colors etc about my ring! All I know he that he picked it, proposed with it, and I LOVE it!

Before my grandmother died in 2001 she gave my mom two rings, one to be given to me and the other to my brother. Since I am the oldest I got to pick which one I wanted. I picked the setting with the round stone. I’ve known since then, that would be my engagement ring if the man in my life was cool with that. It was everything I thought an engagement ring should look like. It also held so much meaning to my family and I. I knew I would fret over new ring and wonder if the diamonds were blood diamonds, this way I felt I wasn’t introducing any new diamonds into the world. Luckily the SO now Fiance thought it was a lovely ring and respected the reasons behind why I wanted that to be my engagement ring.
