@sorrycharlie: We don’t plan on it. I don’t know where the expectation came from. We will probably exchange cards on that day.

I think Fiance and I will write letters to one another after the rehearsal dinner. On our wedding day, we’ll have a bridesmaid or groomsman deliver the letters to each of us. The first time we’ll speak or see one another will be when I walk down the aisle, so the letter will definitely build more anticipation!

He’s wanting some of those finger shoes and I keep saying “HECK NO!”, but he’ll most likely be getting them!

I got him half of a wedding. That was about it. We didn’t feel the need to get each other gifts on top of all of the other wedding-related expectations and expenses.

My wedding is still a ways away….but I just read about this idea and can’t wait to do it! The morning of our wedding my Fiance and I are going to write each other a letter [mainly about how we feel being just hours away from becoming husband and wife, all kinds of mushy gushy stuff basically] and then we will seal them and put them in a box with our favorite bottle of wine. On our one year anniversary we will open the box and enjoy a romantic evening with our wine and letters. :] As far as monitary gifts, we haven’t discussed it yet…but I’m sure we will exchange something.

I got Darling Husband some cologne, cufflinks, and a nice hand-written note from me!

I had his ring engraved, and I wrote him a letter.

I am thinking of doing a budoir photoshoot and getting him a fun pair of socks (complete with the “in case of cold feet” wrapping!). We agreed that gifts aren’t necessary, but he does so much for me all the time… I want to give him something a little different, something that I wouldn’t normally do.

I gave him a nice new chessboard, but it was a gift for both of us.

I am doing a boudoir photo shoot, socks, and we are writing each other a letter that day!

Yes! We both gave each other boats without planning it. I bought him an antique canoe that was our getaway vehicle, and he built me a rowing shell. It was hard to keep both of them a secret while house-hunting because all of a sudden we had these special storage needs….Wink

I think it’s nice to give him a little ‘thinking of you’ token before the wedding, especially if you don’t see him at all that day until you walk down the aisle. The socks in case of cold feet are such a cute idea!

I am trying to get Fiance an autograph from his idol athlete…..he met him last year, so they have a pic together, now sending the photo matte away and trying to get it signed and have asked for any weddign advices/well wishes so it’s got the wedding tied to it.

Boudoir shots, cigars and some other small things in a keepsake box 🙂

We’re exchanging gifts, but taking the stress out.  Rather than having to plan yet another aspect of the wedding, we’re going to a paint-your-own pottery place sometime before the wedding and making each other ring dishes.  We’ll keep them a surprise, so we’ll each get to open something sweet from the other person, but hopefully there won’t be any worrying or extra planning involved.

After paying for the wedding, rehearsal dinner, and honeymoon ourselves… we decided on no gifts. It was great because it was one less thing to worry about!
