If so, what did you get them…
If so, what did you get them…
@engleman10513: My parents helped alot, more on the DIY and planning side rather than the financial side. We got them each a personalized glass with their names. The mum’s with flutes and the dads with beer glass’s. They will also each recieve a a3 pillow top album after the wedding. I don’t know whether we should get them anything else though for on the day.
Not yet! But we plan to! Money was really tight before hand so we didn’t have any gifts for them on the day of! But we plan to do something special for them all now that the wedding is over with. I really want to get albums made for my mom and mother in law. And for my dad I want to print out the picture of him walking me down the aisle and frame it for him! 🙂
I am making each set of parents a quilt. They have everything, so I figured that a handmade guest would be best.
I got my dad cufflinks that has a sweet saying on them, and I got my mom a vase that has a sweet saying on it. 🙂
We will definitely be getting both sets of parents gifts, probably something to give them at the rehearsal dinner/wedding and then a framed copy of a photo of us from the wedding later on.
Yep! We got them personalized signs with their names & wedding dates on them. They loved them. My parents and DH’s mom have them in their dining/living rooms now, and his dad/stepmom have theirs hanging at their cottage! I got them on Etsy from a seller called mrcwoodproducts
They look like this (name is obviously not this one)
ETA: We also got them albums of our wedding pictures after we got them back
Posting to follow
We gave them gifts for just being our parents. My in-laws helped out some financially, which was awesome, but even if they hadn’t we would have still gotten them gifts. We ended up giving the mothers and grandma embroidered handkerchiefs. The moms also each got a small diamond necklace and we got my Father-In-Law some cufflinks, cigars, and a nice cigar holder. After the wedding we made each of them a photo album.
I need help with what to get. I am interested in getting both sets a gift but I dont think they would care for photos, jewelry, or other wedding related things. Not really into personalized gifts either. Looking for a more practical idea…
@hoobylobbyist I like that idea!
I got the 3 couples (real & stepparents) gift certificates to their favorite restaurant, and a frame empty “to be filled” with a pic from the wedding
We haven’t yet because we were waiting to get all our photos back from the photog. We just got them in yesterday so now we need to pic some favorites. We will be gifting all our parents & grandparents with a framed photo from the wedding (or a collage). Our package with our photog came with 2 8×8 books, we decided to keep one and haven’t decided whom to gift the other one too- maybe my grandma since she did soo much for us & went waay above & beyond what we asked of her. Also, her uncle died on our reception day so it was a really rough day for her but she put on a brave face & no-one was the wiser. She’s really sentimental so I think she would appreciate it the most, my mom is more likely to put it up somewhere & then promptly forget it (like mother like daughter!)….
@lealorali I like that idea! We are getting married in a restaurant so that would be nice.
