I know an engagement is approaching and I am SOOO excited! I have explained to him what I like and he might have seen rings I have pinned on pinterest, but we have never went ring shopping. Do most people go ring shopping, show pictures or were you totally surprised? Tell me your ring stories!

I probably should have said other but I voted we went and I told him which I wanted. I wanted an oval but he wanted the sparkle so we went round. For settings, I chose a number of ones that I loved and he picked the one he likes the most. Now just getting it bought is the next big step!

My ring was a family heirloom so it was neither a surprise nor something we bought together.

He enlisted several of my friends to find out what I liked, then completely surprised me. I wouldn’t have wanted to go shopping with him, it’s so much more special that he took the time to find something that I’d love.
He was also thoughtful enough to save the receipt just in case it wasn’t really what I wanted, but he did his homework perfectly!

It was a complete surprise! I seriously had no idea he was going to propose. I totally love the ring he picked, I couldn’t have picked better.

Complete surprise, so much so I ruined 3 different plans he had :-p We had discussed getting married as inevitable, but I had no idea when. We had talked about other people’s rings (like/dislike) but never mine. He used his great-grandma’s diamond and reset it in a setting he chose. I absolutely love it, it’s perfect.

He asked what kind of stone and what color metal, and did everything else himself. And it’s seriously perfect. ๐

I always joked around and said “you know, if you ever want to get married I want a princess cut solitaire that’s at least 1 carat”. He listened =) He added an enhancer around it because he said the solitaire was boring on it’s own and he was so worried I wouldn’t like it, but I love it!

We went ring shopping together, but I didn’t just pick one and that was that. We looked at several different styles because both of us were pretty clueless. He suggested I look at the one I ended up with and I *loved* it. He said he could tell it was my favorite and so that’s what he went back and got. ๐

We went shopping together and he knew the exact ring I wanted. A lot of my friends just had a general idea based on pictures though.

I gave him a few things I liked then changed my mind about what I liked (not my best moment, picture a women going batshit crazy over a ring) But in the end Fiance did all the shopping on his own a picked a ring I absolutly loved. I learned that he knows me very well and that if it is important to your guy that he pick the ring on his own he will take the time to find something you will love ๐

We went shopping together with the plan of narrowing it down to three or four styles for him to pick from (I had NO clue what I wanted). Turns out there was only one ring I liked…so I accidently picked my own ring.

I think it’s a totally personal decision- whatever you both decidie together is great! We went ring shopping together and picked one out. It’s now in hiding in our apartment while I wait patiently (or not so patiently!!) for a proposal. I’m really happy that’s what we decided to do.
