We were walking by a jewelry store around Thanksgiving 2 years ago.  I saw my ring in the display window and told him we would be going back that weekend to check it out more.  The day after Thanksgiving we went to look at the ring and check out the price.  I tried it on my finger (too big it was a size 7 and I’m a size 4) and about started crying.  I said “This is the one.”  I couldn’t stop talking about it or thinking about it and so Fiance gave in and we bought it so I could make sure I got the ring I wanted.  He proposed a few months later but I slept better knowing I’d be getting the ring I wanted lol.

I was totally surprised!! He got home early from Afghanistan and we drove 5 hrs to surprise his parents. We met them at church then had dinner afterwards. Two years ago, I have a bottle of Dom Perignon and I told him we would open and drink it  for a special occassion.

We opened the bottle and he toasted everybody.. Once he got to me, he went down on one knee and proposed to me infront of his whole family!! Being home, and having him back safely was more thank I could ever ask for, but him proposing was the best icing on the cake a girl could ever ask for!!

We never talked about rings, but he got me a very beautiful Vera Wang Love Collection
1 1/2 ct ring and I am absolutely in love with my ring!! It is absolutely amazing!!

I had not part of the ring he chose or when he was going to propose. I suspected it because he was acting weird. I am very happy with the ring he chose. I could not have picked it out any better. ๐Ÿ™‚

My Fi and I have been talking about getting married and the future quite a bit before he proposed to me. In the back of my mind I see it coming but not sure when. He caught me off guard and decided to propose to me one night. My Fi and I went to Kay’s the weekend he proposed to me. I was completely clueless with engagement rings. I am the type of girl that never planned the ‘ideal’ engageement ring.  So I just chose a ring that sparkled with me and within his budget. I have this ring for 5 years and still in love with it =) I just got the center diamond upgraded when we were shopping for our wedding rings. I will never let go of this ring.. ever!

Surprised….I told him from the beginning I never wanted to get married….I did not want him under any pressure. I just wanted us to enjoy ourselves. I said yes because I knew HE wanted to marry me and he was ready without me bugging the hell out of him….I was fine going along the way we were. The ring was perfect though…a 1 carat diamond surrounded by smaller ones and  a row of baguette’s on each side. It’s perfect!

We went shopping together to look at styles. I narrowed it down to several and let him pick the setting. Then we both looked at the loose diamonds together. Ultimately, he chose the diamond, but we were both there and gave input.

It just means so much more because he picked it out alone, and it just shows how well he knows me.

I love my engagement ring and I actually think he did such a good job I’m letting him pick my wedding band alone as well.

I didn’t even know he was going to propose, so the ring was a complete surprise.  He picked it out all alone and I love it.

We didn’t go to a store togehter.  We looked for rings online though.  I found one I liked, contacted the store for MANY photos, then I made my choice and gave him the link.  The rest was up to him!

Engagement and marriage were discussed and we had a rough timeline.  I couldn’t imagine everything being a total surprise!  I like to discuss major things like marriage first!

Other – We designed it together and it has elements from both of us! I think its a perfect reflection of our relationship, we are truly partners in everything. Even though we did it together, it was still a surprise to see it IRL on my hand. Its a 1000% better than I imagined!

My original ring was a complete surprise and I LOVED it, sadly due to unforseen issues with the designer, the jeweler, and alot of miscommunication my Fiance and I had to return it for a full refund and are now starting over. I have gone to a few stores with him only cause I was apart of the back and forth with the original and am now not at all in the process of the selection of a new one cause he and I both love the original process and just want to do that all over agian.

I was actually completely surprized, as we were only 3 months into dating (we’ve been friends for 2 years though). However, we were on our first cruise together and I was putting something into his backpack. I saw a ring case and choked up! I was thinking ohhh no, must be a mistake, maybe it’ not his bag HAHA. Well later that night after our formal dinner he popped the question. I totally asked if this was forreal or if was giving me a promise ring! I just really didn’t see it coming.

We had made some small talk earlier on that we were serious about one another, and that marrying each other felt perfect. He knows I like a little edge in life anyways lol, so the surprize was perfect. But he did wonderfully on the ring, I couldn’t have selected a better one myself!

We were at the mall one day walking around and we just ended up walking in a jewelry store. I looked at necklaces and stuff I’d like for Valentine’s day and he stopped at the engagement ring section. He asked what I liked and we started taking them out looking at them talking about when we get married someday and he said pick whichever one you want. He got the ring right then! It needed resized so he couldn’t pick it up for a month and after that he made me wait another week until Super Bowl Sunday to propose but I picked it out, went with him to pick it up and knew the proposal was coming. Wouldn’t want it any other way… I hate surprises and he had no idea what kind of ring I liked. We always do everything together. ๐Ÿ™‚

Even though the proposal wasn’t a surprise picking the ring out together was. We’d only been together 8 months when we picked the ring out.
