We went ring shopping twice so far.. first time (about 6 months ago) he told me this didn’t mean we were getting engaged soon but he really wanted an idea of what I like. It was very informative and helpful for both of us and we figured out a price range and general style of ring that I wanted. It also gave us time to research about diamonds and good prices and all that stuff. Toward the end of the summer, he wanted to take me shopping one more time so I could pick out the exact ring and diamond I wanted. I’m pretty sure he bought it recently so I’m patiently waiting ๐Ÿ™‚ But I definitely think ring shopping together is a great idea, especially if you’re picky like me. I’m all for a guy picking out the ring himself and surprising the girl, but SO would have had no idea where to even begin. I’m sure I would have loved anything he proposed with because it’s from him, but I think it gave him more peace of mind to know it’s exactly what I always dreamed of!

Yah we went last weekend actually. I’ve always told him I wanted to help pick, since I’m super picky with jewelry and he really knows nothing at all about it!

Fiance and I went ring shopping together ๐Ÿ™‚ I tried on different rings that we both liked. Ultimately it was HIS decision and when he proposed I was sooo sooo surprised. I LOVE my ring and even though we had been ring shopping together, I was still so surprised when he proposed.

Don’t be worried because of that. My boyfriend had no intention of taking me until he had a phone conversation with his sister and she convinced him it would be the only way to get an idea of what styles I liked. His best friend, on the other hand took my boyfriend, me, and another couple we know, yet his girlfriend is still in the dark that he already bought it and has already gotten her parents’ blessing.

We went ring shopping together a few times, and I was actually there when we found “the” ring and bought it. It was awesome because I got something that I really loved that had some of both of our styles in it!! It was a great thing for us.

Yeah, we went ring shopping.

I’m actually really regreting it.

We went EVERYWHERE within like a 50 mile radius. I only ended up finding 2 settings that I liked. Now I pretty much know it’s either one or the other. But I know what they both look like, and it’s driving me crazy cause I want it now really bad. I’m too impatient. I hate the anticipation. I know it’s coming “soon” but I’ve been waiting for 6 months… and it’s just getting worse.

I wish I would’ve given him pictures of what I like sometime ago, that way I wouldn’t have known a thing. Ignorance, in this case, is bliss.

nope…i found a ring in a box, in a box, in a box in a moment when we were going through our stuff one day. It was my great grandmothers wedding ring and my grandma gave it to me when I was about 13. I had it in storage I guess I forgot all about it because since I was little I hadn’t been able to wear it cause it was so small. but when I pulled it out and found it, it fit me perfect and vintage is definitely my style so I held onto it for about 6 months freaking out about it…then I gave it to my boyfriend in April one day when we were at a park on a date…I didn’t say much other than about it and where it came from. He said maybe I will give it back to you someday with his head nodding and big smiles and it was a great moment for both of us although it was not a proposal. I’m waiting for him to give it back to me. I don’t know if I went about that right or not but he seemed to love it.

Hey ladies! If I could virtually squeal I would… this is my first post on Wedding Bee or any internet board for that matter. I have been reading the blog for about 5 months ( in secret since I am not a bride to be yet) and recently discovered the boards. I was embarrassed to post until today because I am not engaged and had yet to see the “waiting” section. To get back to the subject matter I am no longer embarrassed because he bought a ring yesterday!!!

We went shopping for the first time after talking about wanting to get married in the fall of 2012. It was just to get an idea of what I liked. I don’t wear much jewelry and had no idea besides I am in to the vintage look. And to both our surprise we fell in love with a ring and he picked it up today. I feel like I am on a fast moving train. I would recommend shopping together. I didn’t think I wanted to be that involved but it was so fun and turned into a great bonding time for us! BUT now that I know he has it I can’t wait to wear it and make our engagement official.

@grgirl31: Congrats! Don’t be too shy to post a picture when it comes. We all love seeing them. ๐Ÿ™‚ I did the same thing when I knew he had purchased mine. That period of waiting felt so long, but I didn’t want to keep asking for fear that would postpone his asking since he still wanted the proposal to be a surprise. Enjoy this time, any day now. ๐Ÿ™‚

We have been window shopping together multiple times and tried on rings together once even though we’re still about a year away from an engagement. Basically anytime we’re at the mall together I beg to go into every jewelry store we walk by. Fortunately, he is a good learner and he knows what my style is, so I am confident that he will pick out a beautiful ring when the time comes (I don’t want to know exactly what I’m getting until he is down on his knee).

Fiance and I went shopping together. I’ve known what I want for years and have never seen it. And we still were unable to find anything like it. We had to have someone make it. I have not seen the finished ring. I wanted emerald cut Sapphires in mine with Emerald cut diamond in the center. It was better that we went together. I am slightly picky. LOL

We went together to see what bands and shapes that I like. The 3rd time we went, he bought my dream setting! It was the only one that we both saw at the same time and went “Wow!” in unison! Its being sized as we speak and he’s ordering the center stone and having it set so I have no idea when its coming!!! AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

My SO knows what I like because I told him.  We haven’t really gone looking, however.  We went to a high-scale mall with a friend of ours and he drug me into Tiffany’s and was looking at soliatire diamond rings.  He told me previously that he thinks solitaire diamond rings are perfect for engagement.  So I’m not sure if he was getting potential ideas, if he went back and bought or what.  But I am hoping he’s got the ring and he’s waiting for my birthday (Nov. 17th), or Christmas time.
