No it was completely up to him. Our engagement was urprise. Yes we both knew we wanted to one day get married but we never went ring shopping together. Plus how much fun is it to propose to someone if they already know what ring they are getting because you’ve picked it out together?

We went shopping together so he could get an idea of what I liked and didn’t. But then I put on “the ring” and we both loved it so much that I knew it would be the one he proposed with and sure enough….. 🙂 I guess it’s like how I felt with m Fiance…when you know you know! 🙂
I don’t think it’s strange at all for you to go shopping together, its a big purchase/step for you both!

I went with him and was even there when he purchased the ring. Thank goodness I did because his idea of what I wanted was totally different than what I really wanted.

We went together, since he took one look at all the ring options online and figured it would be better if we hit up a store so I could pick out just what I wanted. I’d say it’s a good thing, because he’s mentioned more than once that the ring we ended up with was so very much NOT what he would have picked out on his own! I’m sure I would have loved whatever he would have picked out, but I’m still thrilled I got a decent amount of say in the matter. 🙂 ((The proposal was still a surprise, though!))

We discussed the stone and type and I sent him a few pictures, but that’s it. I wanted to go ring shopping but he didn’t. He said it’s important to him that he choose and buy the ring and is against us going ring shopping, which is ok with me. I’m just anxious for that day 🙂 and I also don’t expect him to tell me when he orders or has it… he’s going to try to keep it a surprise.

I didnt think he would get the one we picked out together but he did! I LOVE my ring!

Nope! He picked it out all by himself.

<– Same, basically.
We looked together 2 or 3 times. He pretty much knew which one I was leaning towards immediately. We discussed it further, made sure we were both ok financially, etc. I didn’t know FOR SURE which he picked, but I knew I liked it because I had a “top three.”
He didn’t tell me when he ordered it or when he picked it up, and so I didn’t see it again until the proposal (which was a surprise as in when, not a surprise that it was coming). Granted…we went ring shopping in September and he didn’t propose for several months.

I did! I thought that I wouldn’t be picky and would just give him a general idea of the style I liked but once we got to the store it turned out I had very specific things I liked and there was 1 ring that was just perfect. I didn’t let him buy it with me there (just to be difficult!) but he did put money down to reserve it while I was there 🙂

We picked mine together.
The proposal was a surprise, he gave me a fill in ring, which was my nanas engagement ring then we went shopping together. I love that we picked it out together 🙂

Yes we did! And it was actually fun! Fiance insisted that we did, because he knows I’m a little picky and he didn’t want to get me something I wouldn’t love. After all, I will be wearing it for the rest of my life. So we picked the ring together 🙂
