@bmo88:  I went to both. My first 2 years were at a private 2 year school at the time. It is still private now but it turned into a 4 year now.

After I graduated from there I went to a public university

Private liberal arts college in Mass. Well worth the money considering it’s towards the top of rankings (us news anyways.) Don’t regret it for a second, student loans be damned.

@lovekiss:  I really wish I had that support from family… I did not and due to that I no longer deal with my mom, sadly. I have found affordable sitters, though. School has taken a long time because I can only go part time, ugh…

I would have loved to major in English, but I have gotten scared away from it. Apparently it is hard to find jobs in certain fields these days. I am majoring in Business. My focus is General Management. I am not minoring in anything, I am not sure why… I want to get my Master’s eventually, perhaps in Healthcare Administration. I have medical experience, and I want to work on the business side of medicine. I switched from Nursing (working in the clinical side of medicine made me change my mind).

At the same time, I don’t mind working outside of my field. I just want to have a REAL job where I make more than enough to get by… Thanks so much for anwering my question Laughing.

Did you attend a public or private university? Or both?

for undergrad I went to a public school. For grad, I’m at a private school

Why did you make that choice?

For undergrad, it was a cost factor, plus, I didn’t want to be too far from my family and my school was within a 30 minute drive. That ended up working out really well because after the second year, I had a job at home and commuted. This time, my grad school is the only one that offers my program, which I’m taking online but still have the option to drive to campus if I wanted to (but I don’t because I’m lazy)

Looking back, would you have decided differently?

Nope. the only thing I’d change is I’d have stopped living on campus after the first year. I didn’t love having the “college experience” but oh well..to late to change that.

    What about your SO/FI/DH/parnter?

He went to an awesome public school in Georgia, but due to unfortunate circumstances, he didn’t finish there. He recently finished his bachelor at a private school where we live. I’m sure he would have preferred to finish his degree at his first school.

I’m currently going to a private school since I’m entering a specialized field and my current location only had three schools with the program.  All of them private, so I picked the best one for me.

I’m very placed with my private school from the class sizes, to the teachers, and to how the classes are setup.   If I had to do it again I’d pick the same school.

Darling Husband currently goes to a public school.  He cared more about saving money on cost and how fast he could finish.  He’s in an accelerated program at a public school with most of his education via online.  He’s thrilled about it and it was the best choice for him.

@This Time Round:  true but….I attened Mcgill for my MBA and as a Foreign student I had to to Pay 75,000 for my masters degree. I had a Scholarship and still it was as expensive as attending a school in the Us.

I did Law at Harvard and it was 86 a yeat but I only paid 14 because I had scholarships. So Going to Harvard was actually cheaper than attending McGill.

to OP I guess the important thing is what public school at for what Program.

I attended both and I learned more and received more from my private education. I met all the right people. I had the best Job Offers. My MBA at Public school was a waste of time I get lots of Wow impresive in Canada but nothing that actually says wow it was really worth it attending this school.
