@mandy102:  it was just a small cocktail party at the school, the principal (new, just started at the school last year) did a speech about the school, showed a video about the school. she even mentioned my engagement at the end of the speech! cos i had just gotten engaged a month or two before and she heard me talking about it to my friends lol

@mandy102:  We didn’t even have our 10 year(class of 1996).  It was planned and I bought a flight home and everything but it had to be cancelled a few weeks before cause not enough people paid (way to go class of 96!).  It originally was planned the weekend before Halloween.  So I went home anyways and made plans to go to a Halloween party at a friend’s house. A bunch of other people I went to school with decided to have our own mini reunion at a restaurant that same night.  I didn’t have time to go from restaurant then back to my hotel and get ready and then to halloween party, so I wore my costume to the restaurant…thinking the weekend before Halloween, surely someone else will be dressed up in the restaurant.  I was wrong.

So I met people from HS, some I hadn’t seen for the whole 10 years……dressed as slutty Rainbow Brite, my date as Buddy the Elf.  Good times, lol!

@mandy102:  I was at first, but then found it quite amusing that many of the guys who never paid any attention to me in HS were flirting with me.  After a drink or two I didn’t care and just had a blast catching up with everyone.  I got several compliments on my costume and had a few friends there tag along with me to the party afterwards….where they felt out of place for NOT being in costume.

I didn’t even go to my 10 year reunion… I think things are a little different here though because we generally don’t leave our hometowns to go to uni so anyone we want to keep in contact with we can. I am still mates with about 10-15 friends from school (as in we see each other regularly and go to each others bdays and weddings etc and we are not just fb friends).

I figured everyone else at the reunion I either wouldn’t know or I didn’t want to keep in contact with… Though maybe I am just a party pooper hehe

5 year reunions actually exist? I never knew that. So, no, I didn’t attend a 5 year reunion because we didn’t have one. I’m 2 years away from 10 years and I don’t know if we’re even going to have one of those. If we do, I’ll probably go.

Our school had a ten year anniversary of their opening, and nothing since.

    They have those?

It’s “five year” reunion everytime I go to the bar.

    Damn small towns.

We didn’t even have a 5 year reunion.  So no, I didn’t go.

Darling Husband and I are starting to get close to the 10 year reunion point though and I do think it would be kind of fun to go back for it.

I skipped that one!  I’m skipping our 10 year reunion this summer too!  But i was that small town girl who pretty much skipped town the second she could determined not to come back.
