Nope! I think he would have been more mortified if I had been there. He has had 3 and I have been present for none of them.

Dh has a requisition for one. But he doesnt actually have to go anywhere. From what I understand he just has to put his stuff in the cup at home and then keep it close to his body as possible and carry it in within 30 min.

So he plans on just doing it at home tomorrow morning and then dropping it off on his way to work. So yeah, ill probably be there…

Dh went on his own. I was at work. He went to my RE, they had him go into a room, they gave him a natural lubircant.  He said they had some old lady magazines so i sent him some pictures to “help” him lol. We got his reults back in like 3 days and they were amazing.

Good luck to you and your DH! Dont be nervous

Darling Husband has had to do a bunch (close to 10 I’d say – he had some blockage issues) and was able to do all of them at home.  He just had to get them there within the hour and didnt’ have to keep them close to his body or anything.  He did it in the master bathroom with that door and the bedroom door closed and usually while I was in the shower.  It was just easier for him knowing I wasn’t creeping outside the door.  My RE’s office was awesome about emailing the results within a few hours.

I seem to be the odd one out, but I went with my husband! Mostly I went because he’s never been to the hospital where the lab was and I have, so I thought that might help. And I just wanted to be as supportive as possible. He seemed ambivalent about me being there, though.

@nhoh:  I hope things went well this morning and the results come back normal!

Darling Husband had multiple SAs, and did all but one of the collections at home and dropped it off at our RE’s office. I actually went in and dropped it off a few times, and he went alone a few times as well. The one time he did the collection in office he made me wait outside the room. Didn’t bother me a bit as it’s not a very sexy place 🙂 As far as the results go, I always got the results from our nurse because I was considered the “patient” to me RE’s office.

I wonder how many men go to do this and end up not being able to at the office. I can’t imagine it’s easy.
