This. I had the exact
issue. I fell in love, bought it, then looked at photos of myself in the sample and had serious regret. I waited a couple months, then went back and tried it on again, and looked only in the mirror – no photos. Definitely still LOVE my dress.
Interestingly enough, its actually been scientifically proven that people don’t like photos of themselves because we are so used to looking in a mirror, which flips our image. A photo doesn’t do that, so we automatically dislike it — just something to keep in mind!

The sample dress was my size, and the woman said it fit well enough that I needed no alterations. I loved it in person, but I still wasn’t always happy when I looked back at the pics. I freaked out about it a little bit. It turned out to be that the woman who helped me in the dress didn’t do my corset tight enough. I was super happy with my dress. =)

My mom sent me the pics she took when i tried it on. HORRIBLE!! I look HORRIBLE!
I just keep going back to that feeling i had when i put it on, and how lovely the dress itself was.

I loved the sample but was a bit disappointed when my dress came in because the sample was obviously “well loved” and therefore flexed a bit more and REALLY hugged my curves. My dress was a bit more stiff luckily it’s a corset back so we’re really just going to have to stitch that baby up tight!!

I voted I hated pics of me in the sample and still hated it when it came in. But I need to explain. I had dress regret as a lot of Bees have after purchasing my dress. So I was nervous about it coming in. I also had surgery in that time which caused me to lose a considerable amount of weight. So, when my dress came in I took pictures again (my Mom lives out of state and I like to keep her updated on all things wedding). When I saw the pictures I completely freaked out. In the sample, I had an hourglass shape. Now, I didn’t, the dress just seemed to hang off of me. I was worried that losing weight had also changed my body shape. However, when I had my dress altered to fit me I loved it again and everything was ok, the hour glass was back! I still get dress regret when I see the new fall line dresses Bees post, but my wedding is next month so I never could have ordered those to have in time for my wedding anyway. It’s tough but I agree with the PPs, stop looking at dresses! On your wedding day with hair and makeup done it will all come together! My Fiance thinks I’m crazy because I tell him sometimes I’m having dress regret (he has no idea what my dress looks like) and then when I come home after an alterations appointment I gush about how much I love my dress and I can’t wait for him to see me in it. Try to remember how you feel in the dress and don’t worry about how it photographs. I second the thread that was mentioned earlier http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/hey-all-you-married-ladiescan-i-see-your-before-and-after This thread has helped me feel so much better about my dress! One of my dress twins posted their before/after and if my after ends up looking the way hers did I will be ecstatic!
