I was just wondering how many of you had a bridal party dance? I have been to some weddings that had one and some that didnt. I am not sure if I want to have a bridal party dance for my wedding or not. I always thought it might be cute, but its not a must.
The other day I told one of my bridesmaids that I cant decide if I want one or not. She didnt really seem to have an opinion on the subject until later that night she called me and said she talked to her husband about it and he would be really upset if he saw her dancing with another guy for the bridal party dance. It never even crossed my mind that it would be a big deal. I mean its just a dance? She can dance with her husband for the rest of the reception. I talked it over with the rest of the bridesmaids and groomsmen and no one else seems to have an issue with it.
I want to respect her and her husbands feelings, but if I do chose to have a bridal party dance I am not sure how to do it since my friend and her husband are uncomfortable. She told me she would just sit out, but then that would leave one of the groomsmen sitting out by themselves.
Because of their feelings I thought about just making it easier on myself and not having one. I talked to my Maid/Matron of Honor the other day about this and she said she thought I was really leaning towards having a bridal party dance until my friend said she had an issue with it and it is my wedding I should do what I want.
So has anyone ever had a situation like this? If so, how did you handle it?
