Didn’t vote because I’m not pregnant or a mom. I have no preference, but DH is pretty scared of having a girl because, “he knows how guys are” and I think he anticipates just wanting to throttle every boy in existence if we have a girl.

llevinso :  I had a slight preference for a boy, just because teenage girls scare me. But it was only very slight, I would have been thrilled with a girl as well — so much will change by the time my kid is a teenager.

My DH had a slight preference for a girl, I think because he like the idea of ‘daddy’s princess’ while also raising a ‘geeky’ girl. Odd but whatever.

We have a two month old boy now and have no disappointment with his sex. We were team green so found out at birth… But my intuition had me convinced we were having a boy anyway. I was right. 🙂 Fwiw DH is SO excited for DS as well.

I had a slight preference for a girl. I think it was because we didn’t find out the gender and almost everyone but my brother said it was going to be a girl so I kind of convinced myself I’d have a girl. I was actually shocked when I found out I had a beautiful baby boy!

I kept asking my DH if his preference was boy and he said he didn’t care either way. At first I thought he was just saying that but I truly believe he didn’t care.

Literally no preference at all. We were team green then and now. Can’t wait. Best surprise ever. Had a boy first.

We aren’t pregnant yet but we both want a girl when we conceive. DH ideally wants two girls but I’d want one of each. Then again, we don’t really get any say in the matter 😉

Our baby is due imminently. We don’t know it’s sex. First baby for us both.

i can’t answer your poll as I don’t have a preference as such but I just always imagined a little boy.  If it a girl I’ll be totally thrilled just surprised. Very happy either way. So it’s not that I want a boy it’s just that’s what pops into my head when I think about being a mummy.

I asked my husband about this and early on in the pregnancy he said he had a bit of a preference for a boy as he just feels like he’d know a bit more about what to do. As the months have gone on though I think he’s realised that’s irrelevant and he’s told be he’s now excited either way and I believe him.

llevinso :  I asked him and he said he isn’t really sure why. He said it’s just that whenever he pictures having a kid in the future, a little girl is always what pops into mind first.

I’d prefer a boy because I hate how women are treated in society and I don’t believe it will ever change.

I have one girl and was desperately hoping for another.

Now my 3 day old little man is here there’s no way on earth I’d swap him for a girl- he’s just divine.

I didn’t vote as we’re TTC our first at the moment. I, however, do not have a preference for either gender. DH has a slight preference for a boy, but we plan to have more than 1 child so he isn’t bothered whether our first is a boy or not.

We want one of each so the first one doesn’t really matter. I  have always wanted a girl more than a boy, not really sure why.

I definitely have a preference- I’m hoping for a girl. I’ve just always pictured myself with a little girl and I have a pretty close relationship with my mom, so I think that’s why.

So far, the old wive’s tales are pointing to girl, but part of me feels like I would never be so lucky to get what I want and the baby will be a boy.

If baby is a boy, I will be a little sad- not sad that they’re a boy, but sad that this baby isn’t a girl, if that makes sense. Then once I get over it, I know I’ll be thrilled! I find out in early August and I can’t wait.

llevinso :  I am the oldest (my brother is 7 years younger) and I always wanted a boy first so he could “protect” any potential girls I might have. Plus, my ex husband wanted a boy and I wanted him to have his son.

After a year of TTC and one loss, we’d obviously be thrilled with either if we finally get pregnant with a keeper. That being said DH and I both have a preference for girl. Ironically I always assumed I’d want boy first, then girl, becuase that’s how my family looked. However, Our close friends all have girls, and our BFF’s daughter has stolen DH’s heart. It’s so precious to see him with her. We have sooo many friends with kids, who have had them for years, but for some reason she’s the one who kickstarted his desire to TTC.
