llevinso :  I totally thought I was having a boy. I was so stunned to learn we were having a girl but now I can’t picture it any other way. She’s the light of our lives and my best friend. I think every parent feels that way regardless of gender once the baby is here! 🙂

I have no preference for number one (it’s a boy), but I would ideally like to have a daughter and a son, at least. Although people keep telling me they can see me only having boys, which I’m also ok with. Husband says his dream would be to have twin girls next time…😱

llevinso :  I have a slight preference for a girl mostly because I really love the girl name we picked out hahaha. But after 2 years of infertility I’m just psyched that we’ll have a new human next month!

With my first, I had zero preference but with my second I had a slight preference for another girl.  Mainly because I loved having a daughter so much and also for more practice reasons;  I wanted to reuse all of my “girl” stuff.  I would have been over the moon either way tho, no strong preference.  However, when we have our third and last – I am really hoping it’s a boy!

DH and I both really want at least one of each. But, I think we’d be slightly more sad if we never got a girl than if we never got a boy. I for sure have no preference on what comes first though!

I thought I would care but I ended up not having a preference. The only thing that would have bummed me out is if they had told me the wrong sex, because I would feel like I lost someone if I had been thinking it was the opposite sex.

DH and I had a very slight preference for a boy because we had a boy name picked out and also teenage girls… lol. But we had a girl and she is the BEST thing ever. Currently TTC #2 and now I’m really hoping for a girl because I think it would be so wonderful for DD to have a sister.

I think we both had a preference for a boy, and we both felt very strongly that it would be a boy. We didn’t find out the sex before birth, and we did have a boy.

We have 3 girls. With this last baby people were kind of shocked that my husband was delighted we were having another daughter- but really our whole family was so happy it was another girl. I think it would have been more of an adjustment to have a boy. Of course people have been asking if we are going to try for one more so we can get a boy- which is a big NO. My husband has a shirt that says “You can’t scare me… I have 3 daughters” haha

megrays :  My husband and I just randomly discussed this the other day and he said he has a slight preference for a girl. 🙂 I am not really sure why – he couldn’t exactly articulate it. But he is a classical musician and not really into stereotypical “dude” things like sports and outdoorsy shit, so I think in some way he actually feels more comfortable around women? I wonder if that has something to do with it.

We’re not even TTC yet, but I also have a preference for a girl although would be happy either way. I think I would just feel more confident raising a girl since I am a lady myself! I feel like I could relate more. But i’m sure either way would be great.

DH wants a boy first because he has this theory that older children are taller. He’s the oldest and 6’3″ so he just assumes this will happen again. He ignores the fact that my youngest sister is the baby and is 5’9″. And all other evidence disproving his insane theory.

He won’t be disappointed in a girl he says. I don’t really mind either way. We don’t have any boy names we can agree on though, so hopefully we have a girl, lol.

FWIW, my brother never wanted boys because he never wanted a son like him. He has daughters and sons now, and is very happy he has his sons.

MsPlucky :  That is so cute that your DH thinks that! My DH is taller than his “big” brother, though.

We both want boys. I’d be terrified to have a daughter in this day and age for the same reasons as
