We don’t plan on having kids for a couple years, but we want two kids (a boy and a girl) eventually. We really hope that our first will be a boy, because even though we really hope to get one of each, if we had two of the same gender, we would rather have two boys than two girls.

I didn’t have a preference, nor did my husband, but for some reason I had a feeling it was a boy and when we found out it was a girl I felt momentarily disappointed because I had gotten this picture of having a boy in my mind. I also had a rough relationship with my mom and I guess had no concept of a healthy mother daughter relationship and was scared to pass that on. Now I couldn’t imagine it any other way and I love my little girl so much.

llevinso :  About people buying a girl princessy clothes, honestly we got some super girly stuff as gifts that wasn’t our style and we just donated it, there’s no obligation to use it, especially since that stuff isn’t very practical day to day (dresses etc). Also they grow out of stuff so quickly that you can always say it doesn’t fit.

Neither of us wanted children but always joked if we ever did we would want a boy. 10 years together and we foubd out we were pregnant, and its a boy.

I only had a sister growing up and I was such a tom boy and only 1 male cousin on my moms side (6girls though)and currently only have nieces, so That could be partly why.

Husband had a brother and sister and claims his sister is so emotional and “scary” in her teen years he wouldnt know what to do with a girl. Lol

Of course I wanted a healthy baby, first and foremost. But I’ll admit that I had a preference for a girl when I was pregnant.  I already had a stepson and my sister was pregnant with a girl, so I was picturing our little girls growing up together as best friends.  I had a boy, though, and am so glad I did!  He is literally the best thing that ever happened to me and we are soooo close … I can’t even imagine having a daughter now because I love being a “boy mom”!  So I think it all works out 🙂

We definitely both lean towards wanting a boy… I’m pregnant with our first and I don’t know gender yet, but I feel like it’s a girl for some reason! But honestly, I get excited thinking about either, and healthy is the number one priority!
