I have major dress regret, but have no room in my budget to get a new one, just have to grin and bare it. I’ve been trying to look for sashes and hairpieces so I can achieve the overall look I wanted. I really jumped the gun with the dress I chose…… Oh if I could only I could go back in time 🙁

Yes I did.
Fiance and I got engaged in Dec 2011, and initially decided on the date of Sept 29, 2012. Due to finances and several other logistical things, we had to put it off. When we choose our current date just this past Dec. 2012, about a week or so into it I pulled my dress out to try it on as I needed accessories etc.
Our venue had changed as well…initially we were doing it in our backyard, and now we decided to do the ceremony in our tiny country church and our reception at our favorite restaurant in the big city. The more I thought about it, I just could not see myself in that dress. Initially it wasn’t what I had dreamed of anyhow (lace mermaid style dress)…it was a dropped waist chiffon gown, GORGEOUS….but just not what I had envisioned. I even tried telling myself I could get a reception dress that was different, Fiance was not happy about that (why do you need TWO dresses?! lol), so in the end I searched around and found a salon not too far away that sells samples from local high end salons and dresses on consignment as well. I liked what I saw on her facebook page and went in to try on a sleek form fitting gown. However,…my budget had nearly doubled from last year so I had a lot more wiggle room. I tried on 12+ dresses and the last one I hit the jackpot! Lace, dropped waist ballgown, my dress makes me feel as beautiful on the inside as Fiance does <3
first dress Davinci 50082 (currently still for sale lol)
and #2, my dress!!!
ETA: the bottom picture the top part looks odd…I had on my VS push up bra with straps tucked in thats why my boob area looks lumpy lol, alterations are underway to add cups however 😉

@lealorali: Yes, I experienced dress regret. When I put a deposit down on the dress I ended up going with, I really did like it a lot. However, I still felt like I could do better. I was tired of looking and had tried on about 30 dresses prior to finally picking the one I went with. I felt guilty because I thought my bridesmaids were tired of looking too. I basically just settled but it was still a good choice. I still tried on a few more after getting my dress but didn’t care for any of those either. The first salon I tried on dresses at also sold prom dresses so service was lacking there, which is why I didn’t go with them. I tried on the dress of my dreams, which was a Modern Trousseau at the second boutique we went to. However, I felt really guilty spending 3200 on a dress, which why I decided to continue looking. We went to a few more places but there was only two places that had decent service. The place I ended up buying from gave me a free veil and 10% off for my bridesmaids on their dresses, as well. Now the wedding is over, I wasn’t the bride I envisioned myself being but I was satisfied with what I choose and I’m now married to the man I love.
