Yup. A few people didnt even give us a card. I found it rude, but got over it.

Ask yourself, did you invite them to your wedding for the gifts they would give you, or the company they would provide and you genuninly wanted them there?

Oh yes.  A few gave a gift about 6 months later.  About 4? 5? couples have never given anything, including the Bridesmaid or Best Man.  (And we paid for his suit too – largely because he never remember to pay us back for it.)

Yes, right now, we have 17 people who did not get us a gift (or a simple card!), some of which are family. We are not of the mindset of expecting gifts, but we do find it odd that we didn’t even get a Hallmark card!

We do have two gifts unaccounted for, so some people of that 17 did get us something, but we just don’t know who.

We definitely had guests who didn’t give us a gift.  I didn’t mind that, honestly, but I did get a little miffed by people who didn’t bother to get me a card.

NONE of his siblings gave us gifts. His uncle didn’t give us anything either, nor did two of his friends. I think it’s kind of rude not to give at least a card, but whatever. Over it.

It was #3 for both of us, so we weren’t surprised. We got a cash gift from my mom but that’s it, the rest of both families didn’t so much as get a card.

@MrsTVLover:

That’s really, really sad.  Does your friend know that you have been holding a grudge against her this entire time?  Over a GIFT?

Yeah that happened to me – I understand not everyone is made of money, but when I had to shell out $$ per plate for them to attend, it would be nice to at least get a wedding gift in return haha. We got married when we were BROKE and paid for the wedding ourselves, so just about all of our guests were loaded compared to us. 😛

Yes. Mostly it was youngish people who only were invited to the reception, so we didn’t mind. I was a bit surprised not to receive cards from some of them though, I think it’s always easy and nice to at least give a card with a nice message.

Edit: we provided 1 glass of champage/non-alcoholic cocktail and a huge buffet plus wedding cake for all these guests.

What  @lolot said! re: bridesmaids not buying the bride and groom a gift:

It depends on the bridal party and whether the bride helps pay for their dress/shoes/hair/makeup/hotel stay etc etc etc

I’m seriously asking my girls not to get us a gift. They’ve already given enough!

After the wedding there were 2 that did not.  One sent a gift a few weeks later (after I had sent a thank you for joining us card including some pics of them at the wedding) and the other (SIL) never did end up giving us a gift even though she mentioned it a few times after the wedding.
