ours was years later, but that’s because we wanted to go to europe and it was never the right time to plan it right away. we went on plenty of other trips before that, but decided to refer to the europe trip as the honeymoon.

We had to delay ours by about 10 months due to me not having time off until the summer.

We’re going to Jamaica for our honeymoon and since we live on the West Coast of Canada but are getting married in North Carolina, it made more sense for us to go straight to our honeymoon after our wedding than coming back to Canada and then losing a day to travel back down South again.

I got married in July (2014) we haven’t had a honeymoon yet, not sure when we will.  My hubbie couldn’t get anymore time off work after the wedding.  He took the week following the wedding off because my brother and sis-in-law travelled from the other side of the country.  I asked them to say in town after the wedding because we hadn’t seem them in 3 years.  There was too much happening during the wedding weekend to really visit with them.

unicornphish:  our wedding was on a saturday and we left tuesday evening for our honeymoon

there are plenty of couples that dont have a honeymoon right away for many reasons, and its no ones business when you go on your honeymoon. Do what works for you.

We went right away. We got married on a Saturday and were on a plane Monday morning to Mexico.  We have really busy jobs and lives and figured if we don’t go right away, we might not get around to it for awhile!  LOL.

We got married on a Saturday and flew out on honeymoon on the Sunday. We were lucky that my in laws helped with the cost of the honeymoon. It was so lovely to get away after the stress of planning the wedding (I’m an awful worrier)

we did our honeymoon before the wedding, which although very practical and was indeed amazing (saved us a tonne on airfares as my then Fiance was already overseas on a scholarship his PhD which we spent the balance of on the honeymoon, and I had to take compulsory annual leave over christmas because work was closed) … it sucks. Our wedding was Sunday and I took Thursday – Tuesday off work. The whole wedding was packed up in a week and I feel a bit glum about it! We want to go away for one night over Easter but now the car is having troubles and have just paid our wedding off in full, there is not much cash left!!

Sooo don’t do what we did! it is so important to have couple time after a wedding, at least at home for a few days!

We are getting married the middle of October and waiting for our honeymoon trip to bora bora in Decemeber for 1 week because I have 2 weeks off holiday pay. Fiance works from home as software engineer and runs his own consulting firm

oh I forgot to mention we are going to Honolulu for 2 weeks in May so we are saying that’s our pre honeymoon (:

We’re getting married on a Saturday, and then flying out the following Friday for a cruise for a week! It gives us a nice break from work and time to spend with relatives and friends coming from out of town!

unicornphish:  We didn’t have a choice but to postpone our honeymoon as I had started a new job and my husband couldn’t get time off either. I just call it a much needed vacation at this rate, I don’t even try to explain its our honeymoon. Some peope just think that everyone can get a lot of time off when it comes to your wedding but both my husband and I had to fight for the time off work so we could get married on a weekend. We didn’t do a mini-moon, we took off for a weekend to go away with a few friends but thats about it. We are going for a cruise in April (we were married in September) and I am sooooo freaking ready to hop on a plane, fly to miami and set sail! 31 more days until sun, sand, beaches, parasailing, snorkling, drinking and when we come back, a baseball game with friends who live in Florida! It may feel like a vacation more than a honeymoon but at this rate, I’ll do whatever I can to make it special for my husband and I!!

We have a 5 year old in his first year of kindergarten, and we just married a week ago, so we opted to wait until he is out of school, which in the northeast seems like it will be FOREVER with all the snow days extending the school year!!! We’ve just booked our honeymoon for end of June, hoping for zero snow days!!! He’ll obvi stay his first week of summer with Nana. 🙂

unicornphish:  We had it 3 weeks after our wedding (we actually booked it the week of the wedding, because you know, we had nothing else to sort out that week…). We had a house decor appointment scheduled for the end of July, and I didn’t want to change or reschedule it, as I didn’t want it to affect the house in any way.

We actually debated on not taking one, because we felt that the money, although it wasn’t a crazy amount of money or a dream honeymoon, could have gone to better things (the house!). In retrospect, I am SO glad we went…it was our first trip ever together (been together for 9 years), and I know we would have regretted not going
