- Wedding: October 2017

I didn’t help pick it out, but he knew I wanted a sapphire. He went with a friend to meet a jeweller who brought out a pile of sapphires and sorted them out, and showed him the top 7 stones.
Fiance knew I wanted a deep blue stone. The deeper blue, the better. He knew that I liked white gold much more than standard gold. He looked through the selection, and when he got to this one stone, he apparently told the jeweller “this is the one!”
It’s a custom ring with a 6.5 mm centre stone and 12 diamonds. He designed the diamonds to be a suggestion of an infinity loop to remind me of my favourite movie “Labyrinth”. I LOVE THIS RING. The wedding band will be a thin curved band, completely plain without stones or design, because I want nothing to distract my beautiful blue ring. Under artifical light the stone looks black, but in the sunlight the blue colour is as rich as the ocean and sometimes I just stare at it in wonder.
I’m glad I wasn’t involved in the selection process. He had a great bonding experience with his buddy, and I got to be completely surprised when I opened the box. I wasn’t expecting a diamond to be added at all, let alone 12 of them, so that was quite a pleasant shock.
The proposal story sucked. There was no glorious or intimate moment, he really dropped the ball. The ring came a few years later. But we’re getting married this spring so it all worked out.
I picked out my ring. He insisted I do it as he wanted me to love it. I had the ring delivered to him and he proposed when he was ready (3 agonizing months!).
It’s a 6.5mm Solitaire 4 prong claw setting Forever One Mossinate with a pave diamond band.
I love it! Congrats to you!!
I was more than a little too opinionated about what ring I should have… in fact, I went through several iterations and finally settled on combining two rings into one design.
I did choose my ring! I saw it while window shopping and I kept going back to the store just to look at it. We are having our engagement party this Saturday!
I never grow weary of staring at beautiful rings! Thanks to everyone that has contributed, seriously all of your rings are gorgeous. Keep the ring stories and engagement stories coming (forever). You guys are making the wait for my engagement a teeny bit easier <3
I ultimately chose my ring. He took me on a surprise trip to Peru and proposed at the top of Machu Picchu!! He is not a particularly romantic guy so it was a surprise to say the least! He wanted to propose with a real ring, so he had one picked out, but was really great about letting me know he was cool with picking out a different ring together (and got it from a place with a great return policy haha!) It was actually very close to what I wanted, but it was 2 sizes two big and could only be resized within one. I am a little sad I don’t have the ring he trekked around and proposed with, but I’ve actually ended up with an heirloom ring from my great grandmother. When I thought I had found the ring I liked I sent a photo to my mom who realized it was pretty identical to my great grandmothers that she has just been given, and offered it to me. I know she loved my fiance, so I’ve gotten pretty lucky finding a ring with some sentimental value that is also in a style that I love! We’re getting some small modifications done on it to make it a little more ours, so I’m planning on asking him to pick it up and just maybe propose again!
My ring inside of some keepsake flowers. Yes I did pick mine out!
