why yes, yes I did. on our way home from a spontaneous hike Fiance suggested we stop in a jewelry store just to learn…. Never one to refuse such an opportunity away we went. And there I picked a setting and he picked the stone. Fiance still claims he would not select it without my input because it’s too important not to do it together. And I recently reset his stone in a setting that really makes her shine, and Fiance was involved in the whole process. We enjoy designing things together-it’s so us.

wrkbrk:  I’ve seen your ering in other threads and just thought you should know I adore it! It always stands out among the rest with those delicate heart prongs.

Mrs.Sawyertobe:  That’s a gorgeous ring! I had absolutely no say in my ering… never had an idea that a proposal was coming! But he did a fantastic job picking it out based on what he knew I liked. High quality round brilliant diamonds (3 stone ering) because I am a complete magpie and love shiny things more than anything on this earth. lmao.

We picked it together, and we each had veto power, so what we ended up getting was one that we both loved! I know I’ll be wearing it forever, but I wanted it to appeal to the both of us.

We’ve each picked out own wedding bands. He loves mine, and I’m okay with his (lol).

Mrs.Sawyertobe:  Your ring is beautiful!  Love the setting!

As for my ring yes and no.  I had no input in my original e-ring but after it was ruined while away for repair I had input on my second.  My original  e-ring setting had rubies but they were small and when given the choice I had fallen so in love with the rubies that I wanted bigger ones used in my second setting.

I thought I always knew what I wanted (princess cut solitaire), until I tried one out and it looked HORRENDOUS. I semi freaked, and decided I wanted to take the time to choose my ring myself. Boyfriend or Best Friend was okay with it. It took me a year (on and off), and I went through all kinds of shapes, settings, colors and even stones… until I found it last week. It was IT: when I saw it , I thought “yep, that s a wrap”! So yeah i basically did all teh work and he paid for it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes, he took me to browse at a fancy jewelry store and I said “that one” and hes confirmed a couple times since. Im a very decisive person so it was very easy.

I guess TBD till its on my finger though! he could pull a fast one and do a switch up, but I would highly doubt he would ever do that.

He gave me a budget and I chose the stone and setting. He paid for it and now I’m just waiting to see it again one day! (he wants to do a surprise proposal). I love how we did it. I’m crazy choosy and can be hard to please. He says I’m the one who is going to wear it the rest of my life so it only makes sense that I get to decide what it looks like. I love him. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yep, we sat in the store and he was no help. He kept telling me to get what I liked…all I knew is I wanted a sapphire. Took me a while but yes I had complete freedom with the choosing. Only thing was, the stone and setting were seperate so I really didn’t know what the end piece would truely look like. It ended up more beautiful than I could ever have imagined ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes and no. We went ring shopping together over Christmas to kind of get an initial feel of what styles I liked. He was really nervous about doing it all himself, and I did want to have a say. Then I went back later to do some more serious shopping from a vendor that our friends had had good experiences with. I narrowed it down to two styles, and I honestly couldn’t pick between the two. We agreed that he would pick the final one. We discussed getting a sapphire set into the semi-mount instead of a diamond. I didn’t see the final ring until he proposed.

I pick out my own engagement ring.  He told me in the beginning of our relationship that one day when we get to that stage, he rather I pick out my own engagement ring because it’s something I wear forever. He wants me to be absolutely happy with the ring.  He like the diamond and the setting of my choice; however, he did mention a few times the band is too thin (it’s 1.5mm I think).  The size is a bit big on me, so when I resize it, we may change the band to 2mm or 2.5mm

I’m waiting to see my actual wedding band.. it will be here in 2 weeks. we bought the wedding band and engagement ring at two different store, so I can’t remember how big was my wedding band but based on the photo I have on my phone. I believe it’s 2 – 2.5mm
