I emailed him the ring I wanted 🙂 He had to love it though or he wouldn’t have gotten it for me.

My boyfriend and I went shopping together. I’ve been sending him photos of rings I liked for the past two months until I finally agreed to go ring shopping with him.

I want tanzanite for te for the center stone and since it wasn’t a diamond like what ladies usually like he wanted to make sure thats what I wanted so he made me try on regular diamonds.

He he said as soon as he saw me put on my tanzanite ering he knew that was the one we had to get. He doesn’t like that I helped but he’ll go with it. Now I just have to wait for him to pop the question.

Nope.  He told me he remembered my ring size from when I took a ring into be resized at the jeweler over a year ago and he picked it up for me.  He knows I love black diamonds so all I know is it’s been in my house for two weeks and is a black diamond.

We had looked at rings together far before we were engaged. When it came time he chose the ring, and the most PERFECT diamond. I LOVE it. Its nothing I ever thought I would get but totally perfect! and the wedding band completes it!

Yes. We had talked about it but I am extremely picky and we have very very different taste. He would have gotten me a huge diamond or a halo, or a three stone ring, was prepared to spend around or over 10k on an engagement ring, etc.

I fell in love with an antique ring a long time ago and had saved the photos. It was a hexagon setting and had gorgeous detail on three sides of the band. I couldn’t find any “mass produced” rings I loved near as much, or even any antiques that were for sale, and i Looked at thousands.

I found two contenders at Brilliant Earth, and we were actually considering taking a trip to Cali (to see family too) to look at them and choose a diamond, etc. We were in the emailing process with them when we went out of town and stopped at a jeweler just to look at diamond sizes to see what our goal size was. While we were there we just happened to start talking to her about possibly wanting a custom and come to find out that shop was known for their custom work. So we talked to her, sent her the photos of the other ring, ended up looking at the diamonds they had in store, fell in love with a .5 from a different ring, so she put it aside, and my fiance ended up ordering the custom ring shortly after.

It’s amazing and I love it so much.

My husband actually proposed without a ring. He did give me a gold crest ring his dad gave him when he was 12 so I’d have something on my finger. He then began a super secret project designing what he calls my “official” engagement ring. He even proposed for a second time once it was done. I had no say whatsoever in my ring but he did ask me what my preferences were (metal color only). He did explain why he chose the ring style and colors after though. He picked a white round center diamond bc it was traditional and then the natural blue diamonds to pay respect to my parents who got engaged with blue sapphires. He knows I love antique looking rings so he had the bands hand scrawled. I say it’s best to leave the ring up to your fiance. I was just happy to be marrying the love of my life and I said yes before he even gave me an engagement ring. He did tell me the stats (color, carats, clarity, etc) but that was just to have it insured properly otherwise I wouldn’t care.

Here’s my ring:
