He picked it without help. I saw it when it came in, no help and no surprise

marbelles:  I went with him to pick the groomsmen colors but he picked his on his own. I had no say on what he wanted. It was only fair……. But he did great, he chose everything I would have anyway lol

My Fiance had a fun day out with the boys to pick the suits and shirts themselves but we talked about what they would consider. We will go on a separate trip together to buy the ties and accessories

marbelles:  I went shopping with him, the dads, and the local groomsmen and I’m glad I did. My fil was trying to convince my husband to buy the cummerbund with his tux instead of a vest. After delicately trying to steer him back toward the vest I put my foot down and said “when you take off the jacket the cummerbund makes you look fat!” Thankfully the groomsmen immediately backed me up and my husband agreed, but if I wasn’t there his dad’s opinion would have won out. If we had rented for one day I might not have cared so much, but we were buying this so that he can wear it at other events so I wanted to make sure it looked awesome. And it does.

If I hadn’t had a say, he would have been in jeans and a Hawaiian shirt…

marbelles:  yes, i knew what I wanted him to wear, and he was happy to go along. He was best man last year to his best friend and wore a hideous outfit, I think if he was to choose on his own he’d probably go with the same thing as that’s what he knows! I was eager to prevent that haha.

I voted “Other” – I won’t go because he’ll do that with his groomsmen, but I assume he’ll show me when he gets home.  It’s not about whether or not we want me to see it, it’s simply that as a man he knows a lot more about men’s formalwear than I do!

My Darling Husband wanted it to be a surprise but he saw a suit jacket he set his mind on and I had to help him track it Down Since it wasn’t at the local location of Lord and Taylor….which was fine because I then got to “help” with the rest of the suit choices!

i do have to say my mom was a bit horrified when I told her at first that I didn’t know what he is wearing, it was a surprise…she was worried he would wear a Hawaiin print shirt that he’s so fond of in the summer.

We talked colors for coordination, but he picked out everything he wore and I didn’t see it until we got maried. We also choosd the wedding colors together, so they were colors we both love. I figured since I picked my dress, he should be able to pick his suit. What he choose looked great on him and coordinated with the wedding, so he did a fantastic job. We also both discussed Groomsmen attire and agreed on that together after looking at a lot of options. He did have some input on potential Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses as well, but I made the final call on those with his suggestions (and budget) in mind.

I asked him a few basic questions – do you want a tie, dark pants or kacki, etc.  But ultimately I chose his outfit since he wanted me to… if it’s not jeans and a t-shirt he’s lost, so it was just easier for him that way.

marbelles:  I think it’s very common. I went to JC Penny with my Darling Husband and we selected his suit and tie together. He wanted my help and I had a vision in my mind that he was on board with. I don’t think I could handle not knowing what he was wearing.

Yes, my husband didn’t (still doesn’t) know much about suits or colours, or anything vaguely clothes related and wanted to make sure he picked something that looked nice. He took the lead and picked out styles and colours that he liked and I just stood back and gave him the thumbs up haha.

Nope. He has great style, probably better than I do, he doesn’t need my help. He looked for pocket squares to match my bouquet on his own and has sent me some options to see what I thought but I’m not making any decisions on his attire.
