I did not and would not, but I am really glad that my venue provides a day-of coordinator. Working with her has been a total dream so far.

Did it all myself 🙂 Did have a day-of coodinator that worked at my venue, and a couple of people helped me get things organized. Once everything started, our coordinator handled everything!

Yes. Personally, I do not have the time, energy, interest nor patience to plan.

in the end, I think it depends on the size, logistics, budget, among your own personal preference for a planner.

    Why are you considering one?

Yes, but only because it’s in Mexico and the resort provides one.

@mstellah:  +1  I would have serious stress if I didn’t have a planner!  It also comes with the territory when you go the Disney route.  If our wedding was local to where we live, I would probably try to do a lot myself but definitely have a day-of coordinator.

    I am hiring a day-of coordinator.

I want to enjoy my wedding day. I don’t want to be the one with the phone ringing constantly with people saying “We’re lost!” “Is it ok if I wear champagne?” “How are you guys running, timewise?” “Where’s FI/your mom/the officiant/the caterer/the bathroom?”

And I SURE don’t want to have to carry my phone around at the wedding so we can do the cake-cutting, bouquet toss, first dance, etc. at the right time. I also don’t want to delegate this to a friend or family member, becuase I want them to enjoy their day and I know they will have their own stuff going on.

It’s worth $500-$750 for the peace of mind of knowing that if something goes wrong, there will be SOMEONE there who has experience with fixing the problem.
