I’m way behind and need to order my STD like yesterday. I just did them black and white but some of my Bridesmaid or Best Man are telling me that it should consist of my wedding colors and some are telling me the black and white is fine and that I shouldn’t do it my wedding colors. I know there is no right or wrong way but just curious as to what everyone else did.

We did black and white post cards on VistaPrint. Our wedding colors are purple, green and silver. Everyone who has seen the Save-The-Date Cards lobe them. If you like the black and white do them in black and white. That’s just my opnion. Either way I’m sure they’re lovely.

Yes, we did. Colors were dark brown, teal, and white.

- Wedding: September 2012 - Mother of the Bride\'s residence
We threw in a bit of our wedding colours but not overwhelmingly so — I think you should stick to what you like!

Our colors are plum and gold. Our STD’s were purple and black. I don’t think they need to be your wedding colors.

nope, my wedding colors were purple, lavender and white. my STD’s were all turquoise-y and blue for the beach (there was a picture of an ocean, blue sky and the words “we’re getting married” written in the sand. So i guess they fit my beach theme, but not my color scheme.

No. Seemed like too much work 😉 We technically don’t even have colors yet. The save the date was a dark purple and while evite. The invites are navy, gold, and white. And it looks like my SO might be adopting lavendar as one of the wedding colors. We figured each thing is so spread out either no one will notice or if they do, they simply won’t care – I know I don’t. Is it pretty? Check. Does it get the job done? Check!

Ours match the general theme/feel of the wedding, kind of a prelude to the actual invitations, but we just did black ink on cream paper. I don’t think it is a big deal.

@mrsjjohnson2b: We didn’t know what our wedding colors were when our Save-The-Date Cards went out so no, they didn’t match.

I actually am behind on getting ours out too but we just ordered them (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). My girls will be in charcoal gray dresses and have pink, peach, and cream colored flowers…so our save the dates incorporated ivory, gray, and a shade of pink. In our pictures I’m in pink and he’s in gray. So we’re all matched up but it doesn’t matter how you do it! It’s personal preference =)

We did not. We got married July 4th, so the STD had fireworks on it and was red, white and blue. Our colors were chocolate, tiffany blue, and champagne.

Our Save-The-Date Cards are being custom made by an etsy seller and she will make them in our colors. But, I don’t think it’s required. Some people might not have their wedding colors set in stone when they send out their Save-The-Date Cards.

I don’t think you have to. Miraculously we were wearing maroon/red in our engagement pictures and ended up choosing that as a wedding color. When we made the STD’s I just had the text, etc, match the picture.

I havent gotten mine yet but most likely since we are doing a yellow, gray and soft white vintage theme we might try. If not, then we will just go for a save the date that has a vintage feel to it.

Our colors were orange, green, purple, pink and we did black and white engagement pictures from our engagement section, our names we made into a logo were in color and the written text was colorful
